Nellai Royal Kings vs Siechem Madurai Panthers – TNPL 2023 – Eliminator | |

Date | July 8, 2023 |
Time | 7:15 PM IST, 1:45 PM GMT, 7:15 PM Local Time |
Venue | SCF Cricket Ground, Salem |
Nellai Royal Kings qualified for the playoffs after winning five of the seven games. The team suffered defeats against Dindigul Dragons and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans but picked up wins over Lyca Kovai Kings, Madurai Panthers, Salem Spartans and Ba11sy Trichy.
Meanwhile, Madurai Panthers made it to the playoffs after winning four and losing three of the seven games. They faced a must-win situation against IDream in their last game and won the match by 4 runs. The team has been inconsistent and they need to bring out their A game in playoffs to win the tournament.
The surface will be a good cricket wicket. The new ball bowlers might get some swing early on but it will also be an opportunity to score quick runs. Spinners will come into play in the middle overs.
It will be a cloudy day with temperature ranging between 33 and 24 degrees. The humidity will be high at 66 per cent.

Both teams would like to go in with tried and tested combinations so we predict no changes in the playing 11s of both competing teams. Washington Sundar is playing Duleep Trophy so he is unlikely to be available for SMP.
Nellai Royal Kings have managed to win just two out of the six games against Panthers but the Kings’ form in TNPL 2023 has been great. Nellai would be looking to pull one back when the teams meet in the must-win Eliminator.

Guruswami has had a top run in the TNPL 2023. He is the fourth leading run-scorer of the tournament with 261 runs and will go into the Eliminator on the back of a stellar 56 off 29 balls in the last game against Trichy.
Arun Karthik is another batter who has done well in the tournament with 191 runs. Arun showed his beast mode when he scored a brilliant 104 against Chepauk Super Gillies. He will be looking to play another such knock.
With 11 wickets in 7 matches, Poiyamozhi has been Nellai’s best bowler. He delivered a good show in the last game and bagged three wickets for 25 runs in four overs.
Hari Nishant has scored just 168 runs this season which is not up to the standards he has set. Nishant, however, has started looking good and scored 34 in the last game. He may come good in the Eliminator and make up for his poor show in the league stage.
With 13 wickets in 7 games, Singh is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament. He has been consistent throughout the tournament and another good show will be expected from him in the Eliminator.
