Date | 20th October 2022 |
Time | 1:30 PM IST, 8:00 PM GMT, 7:00 PM LOCAL |
Venue | Simonds Stadium, Geelong |
There is not much at stake in this game for UAE because they are already out of the tournament after losing their first two games, but for Namibia, it’s a do-or-die game. They have played well so far and will be eager to progress to the next round. They stunned Sri Lanka in the first game but lost to the Netherlands in the second. A win against UAE will boost their chances of a Super 12 berth.
However, if Sri Lanka beat the Netherlands, then it will come down to the team with a better run rate. Namibia will be eyeing a big win against UAE, which has looked completely off-colour.
The wickets have been tailor-made for competitive cricket. The bowlers have got some help early on while spinners have also got some grip and turn. The consistent pace and bounce have allowed the batters to play their shots.
The temperature will range between 12 to 8 degrees. We saw the warm-up matches getting washed out due to rain but thankfully rain is not much of a threat in this game.

Frylinck has been terrific with the bat and ball for Namibia. He has scored a couple of vital 40s down the order for Namibia in addition to picking up wickets as well. He was one of the key reasons why Namibia could defeat Sri Lanka. The team will be expecting another good show from him.
Namibia is full of quality all-rounders and David Weise is one of the best going around. Weise has bowled well in the two games he has played but Namibia will be keen to see him stepping up with the bat as well. He is a key player in the team and needs to lead the side from the front.
Another all-rounder from Namibia, who can be a match-winner for the team. Smit has bowled well in both games. He is capable to hit the long ball as well , which he showed in the game against Sri Lanka where he scored 31 off 16 balls.
Muhammad Waseem is one of the more experienced batters in the UAE team. He started the tournament well with a 41-run knock against the Netherlands. Expect him to come good in the coming game.
K Meiyappan had a dream game against Sri Lanka and became the first player to pick up a hat trick in the T20 World Cup 2022. He dismissed Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka, all top-class batters, to stun Sri Lanka. He will be high on confidence after that performance.
