Jamaica Tallawahs are placed second on the points table after winning three of the five games. They lost to Barbados Royals by 8 wickets in the last game. A 52-run knock by skipper Rovman Powell and 41 by Raymon Reifer helped Jamaica post 156-8 in 20 overs. However, Quinton de Kock and Corbin Bosch scored the 50s to help Barbados win the match.
Meanwhile, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have played six games but have only won one game so far. They have lost three and two matches were washed out due to rain. A loss in the coming game will be a big jolt to the Patriots’ chances of making it through to the semis. They lost to St. Lucia Kings by 61 runs in the last game after being bowled out for a mere 100.
The wicket looks a good cricketing surface with something in it for everyone. The new ball has swung a bit while spinners have also got some purchases. The consistent pace and bounce have allowed the batters to play their shots.
There is around a 70 per cent chance of rain on the match day. Also, the humidity will be 73 per cent while the temperature will range between 32 and 24 degrees.

Brandon King has so far scored 147 runs in five games and he will be slightly disappointed as he hasn’t backed his performance in the first game, where he scored a match-winning half-century, with another one. However, he is a dangerous player and given the format, we cannot expect a player to be very consistent. We just need to hope that the player delivers when we have him in the team. We select players on their match-winning abilities and Brandon is a match winner on his day.
Evin Lewis is pretty similar to Brandon King. Consistency is not something we expect from him but he has the skills to be a match-winner for his team. He scored 24 off just 9 balls in the last game and if he can stay there for say a 40 balls, he can get a score of over a 100.
Rovman Powell has been in sizzling form in the tournament. He has played five games and has scored 200 runs. He scored a fifty in the last game thus he is a good player to have in the team.
After a decent Asia Cup, Rashid Khan is back in the Patriots for CPL. Rashid will be keen to do well and help his team win a few matches. In the last game, Rashid had figures of 1-12 in 4 overs.
Amir has been in great form this season and is the highest wicket-taker from the Jamaica team. He has so far taken 10 wickets in just five games. He has been good with the new as well as the old ball so he is a very good pick for us.
