Date | 16th September 2022 |
Time | 7:30 PM IST, 2:00 PM GMT, 7:30 PM LOCAL |
Venue | Eden Gardens, Kolkata |
India Maharajas will take on World Giants in a special match ahead of the Legends League Cricket. Both teams boast of some legendary players in the squad.
India Maharajas will be led by Virender Sehwag while Jacques Kallis will captain the World Giants team. India Maharajas have players like Parthiv Patel, S Sreesanth, Mohammad Kaif, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan. Notably, these players are also part of the Road Safety Series but are likely to feature in this special match.
Meanwhile, World Giants will have the services of Shane Watson, Lendl Simmons, Matt Prior, and Kevin O Brien among others.
The surface should be a good one to bat. Eden is a wicket that helps both pacers with the new ball and spinners when the ball gets soft so it should be a good match to watch.
There is a 70 per cent chance of rain on the match day while the humidity will also be on the higher side of the 70s.

Viru, one of the most destructive batters of his time, will be back in action for this match. Viru was a game changer when he used to play for India and nothing has changed now. Sehwag will be keen to make a mark in the match and given that he only needs 30-40 balls to make an impact, he is a good choice for our team.
Stuart Binny scored a blazing half-century when India Legends faced South Africa Legends. Binny has done well for India in these special tournaments. He was one of India's best performers in the last season of the Legends League cricket as well.
Yusuf Pathan is playing in the Road Safety Series and he played a brilliant knock of 35 off 15 balls against South Africa Legends. He is still one of the cleanest strikers of a cricket ball and will be a one to watch out for.
The Aussie opener can be hard to stop when on song. Having retired from the game, Watson hasn't played much cricket but given the skills he had, he will be a treat to watch if he gets going, which we believe he will.
Murali is one of the greatest spinners to ever play the game. Spinners can get some help at the Eden Gardens and Murali can have a good game.
