Both MI and DC will be disappointed with how things have gone for them so far in IPL 2023. Delhi has faced defeats in all their first three games and is languishing at the bottom of the points table. The team has been let down by the batters. David Warner has scored two fifties but runs have come at a very low strike rate which has not helped the team.
Meanwhile, Mumbai has also lost the two games they have played. Their batting too has been poor with big guns like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tim David not playing well. The bowling too has looked venomless in the absence of Bumrah.
The wicket will play in favour of the batters. It is a small ground and runs are easy to come by here. Spinners can cause some trouble as the wicket tends to get slower but short boundaries will make life tough for spinners too.
The weather will be slightly cloudy with temperatures ranging between 37 and 23 degrees. Dew won’t be a cause of concern in Delhi.
David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Manish Pandey, Rilee Rossouw, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Rovman Powell, Abhishek Porel, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar

Mitchell Marsh has flown back to Australia so he won’t be available for Delhi for a week. The Warner-led side should field the same team, however, the impact player rule gives the teams a chance to choose their team after the toss so minor changes can happen in the team given the result of the toss. Mumbai Indians should bring back Jofra Archer at the cost of Tristan Stubbs.
Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have met on 32 occasions, with Mumbai winning 17 times and Delhi fetching wins in 15 matches.

Batters | David Warner (VC), Rohit Sharma (C), Tilak Varma, Rilee Rossouw |
All-rounders | Axar Patel, Cameron Green, Hrithik Shokeen |
Bowlers | Anrich Nortje, Jofra Archer, Kuldeep Yadav |
Rohit Sharma has been below par in the recent few games, however, there is no reason to believe that he can’t turn the tables in the coming game. Rohit needs to step up as his team needs him to hit his peak soon.
Tilak Verma is the only MI batter who has looked comfortable at the crease. Tilak scored a 50 in the first game against RCB and played well against CSK as well. He needs to make use of this form and have a great season for Mumbai.
David Warner has been slammed by fans for slow knocks, but the truth is that he has lacked support from the other end. With Delhi losing early wickets in every game, he has not been able to break free. But with two fifties in three games, he has some form behind him.
Jofra Archer should be back in the MI team after missing out in the last game. Archer is a wicket-taker and Mumbai will expect him to fire all cylinders against a struggling Delhi team which will lead MI to its first win of the season.
Kuldeep Yadav can be a trump card for Delhi in the coming game. The wicket may help the spinners and Kuldeep looks in good form to make use of the helpful conditions. He is bowling well and if he gets some help from the pitch, MI can once again be in trouble.
