Bangladesh had a poor ODI series against Afghanistan and suffered a 2-1 defeat. The team lost the first two games before bouncing back to claim a win in the 3rd T20I. Afghanistan bowlers, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan made Bangladesh batters toil hard.
The focus shifts to T20Is but the challenge remains the same for the hosts. The spin duo of Mujeeb ur Rahman and Rashid Khan will hold the key for Afghans and Bangladesh will have to find a way to score runs against the spinners. They will need their senior players Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das to come good.
The pitch will be a good one to bat in the first innings but will get slower as the match progresses. Spinners are going to be key here.
Rain is looking threatening as we approach the match. There is over 70 per cent chance of rain in Sylhet on the match day.

The veteran Shakib Al Hasan will have to play a crucial role if Bangladesh have to beat Afghanistan in the T20I series. Shakib had a poor ODI series but the 39-run knock in the last ODI will give him confidence.
Litton Das also found form in the last ODI and scored 53 runs to take the team to win. Das is a good T20 batter and has the game to be a match-winner for his team. He will have to play a good knock to ensure Bangladesh get sufficient runs against Afghanistan.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz had a great outing in the ODI series and went on to score a brilliant 145 in the second game. Gurbaz is a very destructive batter in this format of the game and can win a game on his own.
There is no bigger match-winner for Afghanistan than Rashid Khan. The ace spinner has dominated world cricket ever since he made his debut for the team. Rashid Khan is also very useful down the order with the bat.
Mujeeb ur Rahman had a magnificent ODI series where he made Bangladesh batters dance to his tunes. He picked wickets in all three games and will be keen to continue the form in the T20I series.
