Amsterdam Knights have Australian all-rounder Shane Watson as their icon player and veteran South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir as their marquee player. Ahmad Shahzad and Ben Cutting were picked up earlier by the franchise in the players draft. The Knights' local contingent looks pretty strong with wicketkeeper Wesley Barresi and all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe being the most notable signings. Varun Chopra and Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza are two other key members for the side in the batting department. Apart from Imran Tahir, the Knights have Hasan Ali, Alzarri Joseph and Paul van Meekeren as the quality players in their bowling group.

Rotterdam Rhinos have signed Afghanistan all-format skipper Rashid Khan as their icon player and New Zealand's wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi as their marquee player. England all-rounder Samit Patel, Pakistan opening batsman Fakhar Zaman and fast bowler Shaheen Afridi are the other notable signings by the franchise. Peter Trego, Max O'Dowd, Pieter Seelaar and Stephan Myburgh are the main additions to the team's local contingent. Pakistan's Anwar Ali and South Africa's Hardus Viljoen will give more strength to Rotterdam's bowling unit.

New Zealand star opener Martin Guptill will serve as the icon player for Edinburgh Rocks while Australian explosive batsman Chris Lynn has been signed as the team's marquee player. Apart from Guptill, Matt Henry, Anton Devcich and Corey Anderson are the other Kiwis in the squad. Scottish recruits Kyle Coetzer, Craig Wallace and Calum MacLeod will further beef up their batting. In additon to Matt Henry, England fast bowler Tymal Mills and South Africa's Tabraiz Shamsi and Dwaine Pretorius are the key figures in Edinburgh's bowling attack.

Glasgow Giants have signed former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum as their icon player and he will be joined by the South African legendary pace bowler Dale Steyn who will be taking up the role of marquee player. Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques, England all-rounder Ravi Bopara and Pakistan speedster Usman Shinwari were all picked by the franchise in the early rounds of the player draft. Scotland all-rounder Richie Berrington was the first local player to be signed by the Giants. George Munsey, Michael Jones, Tom Sole, Alasdair Evans, Matthew Cross, Hamza Tahir, Safyaan Sharif and Scott Cameron are the other Scottish players in the squad.

Former Pakistan ace all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been picked by Belfast Titans as the icon player while South African all-rounder JP Duminy has been named as the team's marquee player. Pakistan's Mohammad Nawaz was the first player to be recruited by the franchise in the player draft while South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis is the latest addition to the squad. The Titans have got plenty of local talent including experienced international wicketkeeper Gary Wilson along with quality fast bowlers in Boyd Rankin, Mark Adair and Andy McBrine. Colin Ingram, Paul Stirling and England international Luke Wright further bolster the team's batting department. Belfast Titans also have New Zealand’s Mitchell McClenaghan who will have a key role to play with the ball.

World Cup winning captain Eoin Morgan has been signed by Dublin Chiefs as their icon player while Pakistan star batsman Babar Azam has been named as the marquee player. The latter was the leading run-scorer for his side in the World Cup and he will be one of the key members for Dublin in the batting department which also has quite a few talented local batsmen in Simi Singh, wicketkeeper Lorcan Tucker, the explosive Kevin O'Brien and the in-form Andrew Balbirnie. Australian all-rounder Daniel Christian is another notable inclusion in the squad and he will have a major role to play with both bat and ball. In terms of bowling, Dublin Chiefs have a pretty decent attack with the likes of Mohammad Amir, Harry Gurney, Joshua Little and George Dockrell.

Amsterdam Knights boast a strong bowling group with the likes of Hasan Ali, Imran Tahir and Alzarri Joseph. However, their batting seems too much dependent on Ahmed Shehzad and retired Australia international Shane Watson. Rotterdam Rhinos do have a few big names in their squad like Fakhar Zaman, Luke Ronchi and Rashid Khan, but they have a relatively weaker local contingent as compared to the teams from Ireland and Scotland. So we feel that both the Dutch teams - Amsterdam Knights and Rotterdam Rhinos - will find it hard to finish in the top four at the end of the tournament's league stage.
The teams from Ireland and Scotland - Dublin Chiefs, Belfast Titans, Glasgow Giants and Edinburgh Rocks - are more likely to qualify for the semi-finals of the Euro T20 Slam 2019. Of these four teams, Dublin Chiefs and Belfast Titans have plenty of quality talent on their rosters and we won't be surprised if they come face-to-face in the final. Eoin Morgan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir and Kevin O'Brien are the star players in the former's squad while the latter boasts the likes of Faf du Plessis, JP Duminy, Colin Ingram, Shahid Afridi, Luke Wright and Mitchell McClenaghan. Belfast Titans appear slightly stronger on paper and we are backing them to finish as champions of this inaugural edition.
Final Verdict: Back Belfast Titans to win the Euro T20 Slam 2019.
