Pakistan are favorites to win
The first one-day international between Zimbabwe and Pakistan is done and dusted. The two teams will now face each other again on 16th July in the second game of the five-match ODI series at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:15 AM local time.
TV channels: Sony Six, Fox Sports, Sky Sports Cricket, SuperSport
Live Streaming: Bet365, SonyLIV, Now TV, SuperSport Live
The wicket at the Queens Sports Club has favored the side batting first more in recent times. Also, it is expected to get a little slower after the first period of play which could mean more assistance for the spinners later on. Toss, therefore, is going to be crucial and whichever team wins it will probably elect to bat first.

None of the Zimbabwean players were reported to be injured at the time of writing and the hosts will have the whole squad at their disposal for the second one-day international. We expect them to retain the entire set of players from the first ODI.
Hamilton Masakadza, Chamu Chibhabha and Peter Moor are the biggest hopes for Zimbabwe with the bat. Masakadza, one of the leading ODI run-getters for the team, was dismissed cheaply in the last game and he will be looking to make up for that. Chibhabha has 16 ODI half-centuries to his name and the onus will be on him to take the team off to a steady start. Moor may not have the best of batting averages in this format, but he certainly is capable of playing the big innings. Tendai Chatara and Donald Tiripano were the pick of the Zimbabwean bowlers last time with two wickets apiece and the hosts will back both these pacers for another good performance. Blessing Muzarabani is another bowler who could pose a stiff challenge to the Pakistani batsmen.
Zimbabwe are struggling big time in the 50-overs format and have lost most of the matches they have played this year. A few of their key players are injured and many have pulled themselves out of the squad as they have not been paid their due salaries and match fees by their cricket board. This has been one of the main reasons for the team's rapid downslide in the recent past.
Brian Chari, Chamu Chibhabha, Hamilton Masakadza (c), Tarisai Musakanda, Peter Moor, Ryan Murray (wk), Donald Tiripano, Liam Nicholas Roche, Wellington Masakadza, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani
Pakistan don't have any injury concerns ahead of the second ODI as all their players seem to be in good physical condition. Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman opened the batting in the first game and put up 113 runs for the first wicket and so the visitors are likely to keep the same opening combination for this game. Pakistan are unlikely to make any changes to their line-up.
Babar Azam is ranked second in the ICC ODI rankings for batsmen. He has seven hundreds and as many half-centuries in this format and he is the key man for Pakistan at the top of the order. Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman scored 128 and 60 respectively in the first match and the team will want their openers to fire once again. Mohammad Amir and Hasan Ali seem to be the most threatening among the seam bowlers. While the former has been doing a good job for his side in limited-overs cricket, the latter is the third best bowler in ODIs with 62 wickets in 31 matches. Shadab Khan will be the go-to man for skipper Sarfraz when it comes to spin and he is expected to do some damage here with his deceptive legbreaks.
Pakistan put up a strong batting display in the opening game of the ongoing ODI series against Zimbabwe, scoring 308 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Though they could have scored much more had they not kept on losing wickets at the backend of their innings. Pakistan came into this series on the back of a 0-5 series defeat against New Zealand in January.
Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed (c/wk), Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Usman Khan
Zimbabwe don't have the arsenal required to challenge a team like Pakistan. They were already struggling to win matches in this format of the game and now the absence of the big names from their side has made matters worse for them. The visitors have a strong batting line-up and an even stronger bowling attack and they will have to play well below their potential to lose this game. Pakistan are clearly the superior side and we don't think they will have much problem in beating the hosts in this match.
Final Verdict: Back Pakistan to beat Zimbabwe in the second one-day international.
