Who Will Win Western Storm vs Lancashire Thunder, WCSL 2019?
Lancashire Thunder travel to Taunton to face Western Storm, still looking for their first win of the 2019 Women’s Cricket Super League campaign. The match at the County Ground takes place on August 10 and the live action is scheduled to start at 15:00.
Thunder, who have never reached the play-offs, have lost two from two so far – Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten half-century a lone stand in another below-par batting performance against Surrey Stars last time out.
They face a Western Storm looking to top the group after finishing second and then losing in the play-off last season. The Storm, led by England captain Heather Knight, impressed with bat and ball as they beat Loughborough Lightning in their opening game.

WS vs LT Toss Prediction
Lancashire Thunder are yet to win the toss, with this their third game. Kate Cross’ luck is due to change and, on a batting wicket, they may want to set a score and put their recent batting woes behind them.
WS vs LT Weather Report
Overnight rain could mean a wet outfield, but the forecast for Saturday is much better – partly cloudy and a little windy, but crucially dry.
WS vs LT Pitch Condition
This is Western Storm’s first home game of the 2019 Kia Super League and it will also have been a week since Somerset last used the ground. This match is part of a double header, but the women get first crack at what should be another excellent batting surface.

Western Storm Team News & Playing 11

Anya Shrubsole did not feature in Western Storm’s opening match and the England pace bowler may find it difficult to reclaim her place despite her reputation. A strong all-round display included a wicket on her debut for newcomer Alex Griffiths.
WS Key Players
Smriti Mandhana: In pre-tournament interviews, the Indian icon said she was delighted with how she was timing the ball and she gave a little taste with 32 from 24 balls in the opening game.
Deepti Sharma: One of the new recruits for this season, the Indian off-spinner took 1-17 – including ten dot balls – to show what she can add to the bowling attack this season.
Heather Knight: The England and Western Storm captain went wicketless with the ball but then anchored the chase with a disciplined 41 from 39 balls to guide the Storm towards victory.
WS Team Form
After losing to Surrey Stars in last year’s play-off, following their second-placed finish, Western Storm kicked off the new campaign in winning form. Freya Davies and Claire Nicholas both claimed two wickets and Deepti Sharma bowled economically as they limited Loughborough Lightning to 125/6. In reply, Smriti Mandhana (32), Heather Knight (41) and Fran Wilson (33*) guided the Storm to a seven-wicket win in 17 overs.
