Who will win West Indies vs Ireland, 2nd ODI 2020?
West Indies can wrap up a series win with a game to spare when they take on Ireland at Bridgetown’s Kensington Oval again, in the second match of this three-game ODI series. The game takes place on January 9 and gets underway at 13:00 local time.
West Indies were in dominant form in the first game, Alzarri Joseph taking 4-32 to rip through the Irish batting before Evin Lewis’ unbeaten 99 helped them to a five-wicket win. They have won the first game of each of their last two series too, beating Afghanistan but going on to lose to India.
Ireland, meanwhile – led in ODI cricket by Andy Balbirnie for the first time – will expect significant improvements with the bat after collapsing to 180 all out in the first game. It could have been worse too – their tenth-wicket partnership added 30 of those runs.

West Indies Team News & Playing 11
WI Team News
Brandon King returned to the team last time out, in place of Romario Shepherd and there was no issue with the subsequent balance of the team. West Indies could be unchanged as a result, particularly with Jason Holder being rested again.
WI Key Players
Shai Hope: Scored just 13 last time out and was overshadowed by his opening partner Lewis, but his form against India as he raced past the 3,000-run mark in ODI cricket showed he should not be taken lightly at the top of the order. He also claimed five dismissals behind the stumps.
Evin Lewis: Led the way last time out, hitting 13 fours and two sixes on his way to a run-a-ball, unbeaten 99. Though he fell just short of a third ODI century, he did pass 1,500 runs in the format in his 46th innings.
Sheldon Cottrell: While Joseph led the bowling figures last time out, saluting Sheldon Cottrell took 2-39 from his nine overs and bowled 38 dot balls. He now has 41 wickets in ODI cricket, from 29 innings.
WI Team Form
Coming into this game on the back of beating Afghanistan but losing to India, West Indies continued what has generally been a post-World Cup resurgence with a dominant victory last time out. Alzarri Joseph took 4-32 as they bowled Ireland out for 180 and Evin Lewis’ unbeaten 99 ensured victory was never in doubt – the hosts reaching their target with five wickets and 100 balls to spare.
West Indies Predicted Playing 11
Evin Lewis, Shai Hope (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard (c), Roston Chase, Keemo Paul, Sheldon Cottrell, Alzarri Joseph, Hayden Walsh Jr
Ireland Team News & Playing 11
IRE Team News
Gareth Delany made his ODI debut at the top of the order as Ireland were led by Andy Balbirnie for the first time in ODI cricket. Former captain Gary Wilson missed out, with Lorcan Tucker taking the gloves. Mark Adair bowled just two expensive overs, but the all-rounder is likely to be given another opportunity.
IRE Key Players
Kevin O’Brien: In good form with bat and ball in the warm-up game, he needs just six more runs to move to 3,500 in ODI cricket – a tally he has complemented with 113 wickets.
Andrew Balbirnie: Put in charge of the Irish team for the first time, he scored only a brief 16 last time out, but he has a good ODI record – particularly when it comes to converting 50s into 100s.
Boyd Rankin: One of the positives with the ball, he only conceded 12 scoring shots from the 42 balls he bowled and finished with figures of 1-26 from seven overs – continuing the good economy rate he also delivered in the warm-up game.
IRE Team Form
This is Ireland’s first ODI series since July, and they started it on the wrong foot. Bowled out for 180, no batsmen really made a score before West Indies stormed to a dominant victory.
Ireland Predicted Playing 11
Paul Stirling, Gareth Delany, Andrew Balbirnie (c), William Porterfield, Kevin O’Brien, Lorcan Tucker (wk), Mark Adair, Simi Singh, Andy McBrine, Barry McCarthy, Boyd Rankin
