TUS vs MPR T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips, CSA Provincial T20 Cup 2022

Tuskers will take on Mpumalanga Rhinos at the City Oval, Pietermaritzburg. Match 2 in Pool A of the CSA Provisional T20 Cup 2022/23 begins at 13:45 local time on Friday 30th September.

Tuskers

Formerly known as KZN Inland, the Tuskers won only one match during their campaign in Pool B last season. They beat Mpumalanga Rhinos by seven wickets with Cameron Delport hitting 72 not out from 39 balls. The Tuskers went on to lose to Knights and Titans.

TUS Batting

Although Delport hit an impressive score against the Rhinos, the 33 year old did not make much of an impact in the other games last year. However, he has been in good form across other formats this year. The Tuskers did not score over 135 across the tournament in 2021.

TUS Bowling

26 year old off-spinner Kurtlyn Mannikam took 2-17 against Titans in the final group stage game last year. He will be back in the team again this year and we would expect him to get a good amount of turn from this wicket. Fast medium bowler Keith Dudgeon will also be a wicket taking threat.

TUS Form

After beginning with a seven wicket win in their opening match, the form of the Tuskers dropped off with consecutive defeats to end the competition.

Mpumalanga Rhinos

The Rhinos lost their first two games in the 2021 competition and suffered a washout in the final match to end the season without a victory. Their losing margins were seven wickets against the Tuskers and nine runs (DLS) against the Titans.

MPR Batting

25 year old Ruben Hermann top scored in both completed matches for Mpumalanga Rhinos last year and the keeper-batter has a particularly strong record in longer format cricket. He does not score at the quick rate of some players but keeps the scoreboard moving when at the crease.

MPR Bowling

Off-spinner Blake Schraader took 2-21 in the match against the Tuskers and followed up those figures with 1-9 against Titans in the rain-reduced (seven overs) game. No bowler picked up a wicket in both games other than Schraader.

MPR Form

The Rhinos came close to beating Titans in the shortened match but they bring no winning momentum from last year’s tournament into the 2022 competition.

TUS vs MPR Pitch Report

The match will be played at the City Oval, Pietermaritzburg. We expect to see a wicket which makes for a strong contest between bat and ball. A score over 170 will be required to be competitive.
