After beating Mpumalanga Rhinos by seven wickets on Friday to get off to an excellent start in the tournament, Tuskers were defeated for the first time in this campaign by South Africa U-19s by 15 runs on Saturday. We have seen their batting excellent on Friday but poor on Saturday.

Malcolm Nofal top scored for Tuskers with 54 runs from 34 balls against South Africa U-19s and while him and Thamsanqa Kumalo (33 from 35 balls) were at the crease, Tuskers looked likely to win on Saturday. However, the final six wickets contributed only 28 runs.

It was an impressive bowling showing from Tuskers on Saturday with only left-arm spinner Nduduzo Mfoza going wicketless of the six bowlers used. Stefan Tait took 2-32 and Andile Mokgakane took 2-6 from two overs as South Africa U-19s were restricted to 150-7.

Tuskers have been inconsistent so far in the tournament but have shown that they have talented players.

Eastern Storm

Eastern Storm lost by five wickets to South Africa U-19s on Friday and then lost by only two wickets to Mpumalanga Rhinos on Saturday. As a result, they are bottom of Pool A and must win this match to give themselves any hope of qualifying for the next phase.

ES Batting

The Eastern Storm batters produced runs on Saturday but the strike-rates of their openers Danie Rossouw and Nhlanhla Mashgo must improve in this game. Juan Lubbe at number three and Matthew Arnold at four hit 54 and 48 respectively at a good rate against the Rhinos.

ES Bowling

The bowlers very nearly won the game for Eastern Storm on Saturday but ultimately the batters had not given the bowling attack enough runs to play with. Shane Dadswell continued his good form with 2-34 and Matthew Arnold took 3-28 for his first wickets of the competition.

Eastern Storm lost their last two matches last season and have lost their first two in this competition.
