Sylhet Sixers Team News & Playing 11

SYS Team News

Jason Roy top-scored on his first appearance for the Sylhet Sixers last time out, having been drafted in to replace David Warner after the Australian returned home following an elbow injury. Roy’s arrival meant Mohammad Irfan dropping out from the previous match against the Titans, while Ebadat Hossain and Nabil Samad were added to the bowling line-up as Jaker Ali and Nassir Hossain missed out. Sandeep Lamichhane has not played the last two games.

SYS Key Players

Jason Roy scored four fours and two sixes in a total of 42 from 28 balls as the Sixers beat Rajshahi Kings last time out, on his first appearance. He arrived on the back of excellent form in the T10 League and also for England in Sri Lanka too.

Liton Das scored 24 at the top of the order, meanwhile. He has rediscovered some of his best form since hitting 70 against Rangpur Riders.

Nicolas Pooran is their top run scorer, meanwhile, moving to 291 from nine innings in the game against Rajshahi Kings last time out, and Mohammad Nawaz top-scored for the Sixers when they last faced Khulna Titans – hitting 54 from 34 balls.

Sylhet Sixers boast one of the top bowlers in the tournament, meanwhile. Taskin Ahmed has claimed two four-wicket hauls so far and has eight wickets in his last three games – and 18 in total. That includes 2-35 in the last match against the Titans and 2-20 in the win against Rajshahi.

Sohail Tanvir claimed 3-17 in the win against the Kings last time out, meanwhile, and Nawaz took 3-22, while Alok Kapali followed up his 4-22 against the Titans with 2-15.

SYS Team Form

Sylhet Sixers ended a three-match losing streak to record just their third win in nine games when they beat Rajshahi Kings last time out. Jason Roy’s 42 from 28 balls helped them to 180/6 and three wickets apiece for Sohail Tanvir (3-17) and Mohammad Nawaz (3-22) helped them bowl the Kings out for 104.

They had previously lost to Khulna Titans in their only game in the third phase of fixtures, in Dhaka, having lost their last two in Sylhet too. They could not defend 158/8 in a six-wicket defeat to Dhaka Dynamites in Sylhet, after David Warner’s 63 in their first innings, and thenfailed to defend 194/4 against Rangpur Riders despite Taskin Ahmed’s second four-wicket haul of the tournament.

Defeat to the Titans then followed, as Mohammad Nawaz’s 54 could not lift them to the Khulna Titans’ total of 170/9; Alok Kapali having earlier taken 4-22 from four overs, but they do at least go into this re-match having got back to winning ways.

Khulna Titans Team News & Playing 11

KT Team News

Khulna Titans have stuck with the same XI for the last two games, with Junaid Khan selected ahead of Lasith Malinga and Yasir Shah in the bowling attack. After recording just their second win so far, it could be an unchanged team that faces Sylhet Sixers again.

KT Key Players

Junaid Khan has ten wickets in his five BPL appearances so far this season and, combined with a generally good economy rate and useful death bowling, the Pakistani paceman looks to have nailed down his place in the bowling attack.

David Wiese took 1-24 last time out, meanwhile, having also hit 38 from 25 balls down the order with the bat. The South African all-rounder has scored 113 runs in his last three innings and has six wickets so far in this year’s BPL too.

Brendan Taylor top-scored, meanwhile, continuing his run of useful batting scores. The Zimbabwean scored 48 from 31 balls at the top of the order, sharing a 73-run opening stand with Junaid Siddique (33), to move to 108 runs in his last three innings.

Taijul Islam took three wickets in this fixture for the Sixers last season, and three wickets for the Titans last time out, meanwhile. He now has nine wickets in this year’s tournament.

KT Team Form

After starting with four consecutive defeats, Khulna have won two of their five games since – bookending three more defeats in between.

They ended their drought by defending 128/9 against Rajshahi Kings, as Taijul Islam claimed 3-10 and Junaid Khan took 3-26 to bowl the Kings out for 103.

Improved batting followed – Junaid Siddique top-scoring with 70 from 41 balls in a total of 181/7 against Comilla Victorians. Junaid Khan took 4-32 in reply but they lost by three wickets in the final over.

Chittagong Vikings then hammered 214/4 against the Titans, and the Titans could only reach 188/8 in reply, before a third straight defeat as they failed to defend 181/6 against Rangpur Riders – losing by six wickets with three balls to spare.

They beat Sylhet Sixers last time out, however, to finally profit from their batting improvement. Brendan Taylor’s 48 was the top score in a total of 170/9, before Taijul Islam claimed 3-32 to help restrict the Sixers to 149/7.

Sylhet Sixers vs Khulna Titans Head to Head

Khulna have won both matches they have played against Sylhet Sixers in the Bangladesh Premier League. In the 2017 tournament, Taijul Islam’s 3-19 counted for nothing as Khulna Titans chased 136 to win by six wickets with two overs to spare. The second match that season was rained off, however.

Most recently, in the Titans’ most recent game, Taijul Islam again took three wickets – but this time in a winning cause having switched to the Titans this season. He helped Khulna comfortably defend their total of 170/9, as the Sixers could only reach 149/7 despite a half-century from Mohammad Nawaz.

Sylhet Sixers vs Khulna Titans Betting Odds

Despite beating Sylhet Sixers last time they met, Khulna Titans are outsiders at 2.00 to win with Bet365, who are offering the best price of 1.80 on a Sixers victory.

Brendan Taylor has found form for the Titans in recent matches, inspiring some improved batting form, and the Zimbabwean – who top scored against the Sixers last time out – is 4.00 to be their top batsman again with Bet365.

For the Sixers, meanwhile, Jason Roy’s arrival is a big boost and he is 4.33 with Bet365 to be their top batsman – having been exactly that in his first appearance last time out.

The Sixers also boast the top wicket taker in the tournament so far, in Taskin Ahmed, and he is a generous 5.00 to be their top bowler despite two four-wicket hauls in his nine appearances so far.

🏆 Sylhet Sixers vs Khulna Titans Prediction

Khulna Titans’ batting improvement saw them beat Sylhet Sixers last time out and they can repeat that this time – even if the Sixers have added in-form Jason Roy to their batting line-up since then.

Final Verdict: Back Khulna Titans to beat Sylhet Sixers at 2.00 with Bet365.
