Our Pick Sydney Thunder are favorites to win
The two teams of the points table i.e Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers collide for the battle of supremacy in the 38th match of the Big Bash League. The match will be played at the Manuka Oval and is set to begin at 7:15 Pm local time.
If there was one match that the fans was eagerly waiting for, it’s got to be this epic encounter between Sydney Thunders and Sydney Sixers. Both teams have been top class in the tournament and settled at the first two spots in the points table.
Sydney Thunders lost their last match to Perth Scorchers but they boast of a very strong team and we expect them to bounce back in style against Sydney Sixers.
Usman Khawaja, Alex Hales, Cullum Ferguson, Sam Billings, Alex Ross forms a strong batting line up. Ben Cutting has also been very good with the bat on occasions. The only issues we see in their batting is that they’ve a very long tail. However, the top order looks good enough to get them through on most occasions.
The bowling has also been top class with Adam Milne and Naathan McAndrew leading the charge. Brendan Doggett picket up 4 wickets in the last match will also be a big threat.
The spin duo of Tanveer Sangha and Chris Green will get a lot of purchase from this wicket and will pose a stern challenge to Sydney Sixers.
For Sydney Sixers, even though they won their last game against Brisbane Heat, we have few concerns about their batting.
For Sydney Sixers, Josh Philippe, James Vince, Daniel Hughes, Jordan Silk have been good in the tournament but haven’t been that consistent. Same can be said about the all rounders i.e Carlos Brathwaite and Daniel Christian. If all of them can perform collectively, they can be a hard nut to crack.
The bowling has been good throughout though with Jack Bird, Llyod Pope, Jake Ball, Steve o Keefe performing well in almost every game. The all round options of Daniel Christian and Carlos Brathwaite have been decent too.
So overall, both teams have performed well in the tournament but Sixers batting looks a little vulnerable to us. They’ve not been very consistent and can collapse against quality bowling unit. Thus, we’ll go in with Thunders as the winner of this match.

It’s a good wicket to bat on thus both skippers might want to bat first
The wicket will be very good for batting but the underlying nature of the pitch is slow thus spinners will come into play as well.
The weather looks good with plenty of sunshine. The temperatures will hover around mid 20’s.

Both teams have been very good in the tournament but we have concerns about the batting form of Sydney Sixers. Thunders have a very good batting and most of their players are in decent form. The bowling is also looking very good. We think Thunders have a very good chance of winning this match.
Wicket Keeper
Josh Philippe at 9.5 and Sam Billings at 9.0 are two top picks. Philippe is the leading run scorer for Sixers while Billings is fresh from a brilliant knock of 83
Batsmen
Alex Hales at 10.0, Usman Khawaja at 9.5, Daniel Hughes at 9.0 and Cullum Ferguson at 9.0 will form a solid batting line up. All the batsmen are in top form and are expected to come good in the next match.
All rounder
Daniel Christian at 9.5 and Ben Cutting at 8.5 are quality all rounders we’ll have in our team. Both have been very consistent with their all round skills and will add depth to our team.
Bowlers
Jake Ball at 9.0, Adam Milne and Tanveer Sangha at 8.5 will complete our team. Jake Ball picked up three wickets in the last match and Adam Milne have been very good for the Thunders. Sangha has been among the wickets in almost every game.
Captain /Vice Captain
Alex Hales will be our skipper while we’ll back Daniel Christian as his deputy.
