Toss Prediction
Despite four of the last six ODIs here having been won by the side batting first, the team that wins the toss in this match may opt to bowl first as there are chances of rain interruptions. So setting a target will not be easy in such a scenario.
Weather Report
Thundery showers accompanied by light winds have been forecast for Saturday with the rain expected to get heavier towards the end of the game. Temperatures are likely to be in the range of 30-33 degrees Celsius.
Pitch Condition
260+ has been scored at this venue four times in the last six one-day internationals, showing that this has been a pretty good surface to bat on. Conditions on Saturday, however, should offer a fair amount of assistance to the seam bowlers.

Sri Lanka Team News & Playing 11
SL Team News
Dimuth Karunaratne will be in charge of Sri Lanka's 15-man squad for this three-game ODI series that will see wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella and all-rounder Thisara Perera return to the 50-over set-up. Dickwella is recovering from fever and so he could miss this opening fixture, in which case, Kusal Perera will have to do the glovework behind the stumps. The Sri Lankan selectors have sidelined Danushka Gunathilaka and Oshada Fernando for this series due to their respective back and hand injuries while left-arm pacer Isuru Udana has been retained.
SL Key Players
Avishka Fernando: In his short ODI career of 15 matches, Avishka has notched up 447 runs which includes a century and a couple of fifties. The opening batsman is in good form and he recently cracked two fifties in the SLC Twenty-20 Tournament last month.
Angelo Mathews: He is the most experienced and reliable batsman in this Sri Lankan line-up. The former captain is averaging 42.73 in the format and he will be expected to hold the innings together should the hosts lose a few early wickets.
Nuwan Pradeep: He will be the biggest threat for the West Indian batsmen in these conditions. The fast bowler has taken 54 wickets in 42 ODIs and has a couple of four-wicket hauls to his name as well.
SL Recent Form
Sri Lanka played 21 one-day internationals last year out of which they won only 7 and lost the rest. After a disappointing campaign at the World Cup in England, they thrashed Bangladesh 3-0 at home before losing 0-2 to Pakistan in Pakistan in their most recent 50-over assignment. The Sri Lankan bowlers looked below par in that series - they allowed the hosts to post 305 in the second ODI and failed to defend 297 in the decider.
Sri Lanka Predicted Playing 11
Dimuth Karunaratne (c), Avishka Fernando, Angelo Mathews, Kusal Perera (wk), Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Isuru Udana, Nuwan Pradeep, Lahiru Kumara, Wanindu Hasaranga
West Indies Team News & Playing 11
WI Team News
West Indies have arrived on the Sri Lankan shores with a 15-man ODI squad sans batsmen Evin Lewis and Shimron Hetmyer, both of whom failed to clear a fitness test earlier. The visitors have roped in Rovman Powell and veteran Darren Bravo owing to their impressive performances with the bat in the Colonial Medical Super50 tournament. Fabian Allen too comes back into the side after having fully recovered from his leg injury he had sustained last year during the India tour. Kieron Pollard will be leading the Windies team in this ODI series.
WI Key Players
Shai Hope: He is the leading ODI run-getter for the West Indies from the current squad and will be expected to take the team off to a good start. Hope is having a terrific average of 50.85 in the format and he smashed 85 in Thursday's practice match against Sri Lanka Board Presidents XI.
Roston Chase: He is another danger man with the bat at the top of the order. The explosive batsman powered the Windies to an emphatic win the other day with his whirlwind knock of 136. Chase also provides the team a good bowling option as well.
Sheldon Cottrell: The left-arm pacer will be lethal on Saturday - in conditions expected to be conducive for seam bowling. Cottrell took five wickets in the recent home series against Ireland and he will look to continue his good form in Sri Lanka.
WI Recent Form
West Indies have won seven of their last nine matches in the game's fifty-over format. However, six of those wins have come against the lower-ranked Afghanistan and Ireland; they registered 3-0 clean sweeps in both the series. Before their previous home series against Ireland, the Windies had toured India for a three-match ODI series. After winning the opening encounter by a handsome margin, they suffered back-to-back defeats in the last two matches to lose the series 1-2.
West Indies Predicted Playing 11
Brandon King/Sunil Ambris, Shai Hope (wk), Darren Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Roston Chase, Kieron Pollard (c), Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Sheldon Cottrell, Alzarri Joseph, Hayden Walsh

🏆 Sri Lanka vs West Indies Prediction
Sri Lanka have the home advantage in their favor and they will be playing at a ground where they have won nine of their last ten completed ODIs. However, their form in this format of the game has not been too good lately as compared to the West Indies who are coming on the back of seven wins in their last nine matches.
The Windies lost to Sri Lanka in last year's World Cup in England and they will surely have revenge on their mind. And with the kind of explosive batsmen and threatening fast bowlers they have in their side, we feel they have a good chance of avenging that defeat.
