Toss Prediction
Six of the last seven one-day internationals played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium have been won by the side bowling first. Moreover, this being a day-night encounter, there is a possibility of dew later on in the evening. So toss is going to be crucial here and whichever team wins it will probably elect to field first.

Sri Lanka Team News & Playing 11
SL Team News
Sri Lanka, despite facing a heavy defeat in the first one-day international, may come up with the same line-up for the second game. Niroshan Dickwella will probably open the batting once again with Upul Tharanga while Shehan Jayasuriya who failed to get off the mark last time could be given another chance to secure his place in the middle order.
SL Key Players
Kusal Perera was the bright spot in Sri Lanka's batting in the first ODI, scoring 81 runs off 72 balls. He was the only one in the side who looked at ease against the South African bowlers and this makes him the key man for the hosts. Upul Tharanga and Angelo Mathews are among the leading run-getters for Sri Lanka in the 50-overs format and the team will be expecting strong contributions from them.
Thisara Perera and Suranga Lakmal have done well for their side in this format and these two are going to be the main weapons for the skipper when it comes to pace bowling. The spin department relies on left-armer Lakshan Sandakan and off-spinner Akila Dananjaya. The latter claimed a three-wicket haul last time and he could again create a few problems for the visitors on this surface.
SL Recent Form
Sri Lanka have now won three and lost as many one-day internationals out of the six they have played this year. The hosts came into this series on the back of three consecutive ODI wins which included the final of the tri-series involving Zimbabwe and Bangladesh at Dhaka. In the opening game of the ongoing series, Sri Lanka suffered a batting collapse and were bundled out for just 193 in the 35th over.
Sri Lanka Predicted Playing 11
Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Upul Tharanga, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Angelo Mathews (c), Shehan Jayasuriya, Thisara Perera, Akila Dananjaya, Suranga Lakmal, Lakshan Sandakan, Lahiru Kumara
South Africa Team News & Playing 11
SA Team News
Allrounder Willem Mulder who played just the second one-day international of his career the other day was taken for plenty with the ball - 34 runs off three overs. But with South Africa finishing victorious in that game, the selectors might be tempted to retain the entire line-up for this upcoming match. So Mulder could be given another game here and we expect the Proteas to go unchanged.
SA Key Players
Hashim Amla, one of South Africa's leading run-getters in ODIs, fell cheaply last time and he could bounce back with a big knock in the second ODI. His opening partner Quinton de Kock and skipper Faf du Plessis both looked good with scores of 47 each. JP Duminy is an integral part of the team's middle order. The allrounder struck a quick-fire fifty to steal the game from the hosts and he is another key component in this batting line-up.
Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi troubled the Sri Lankan batsmen the other day and they are likely to trouble them again, especially with the new ball. Rabada took a four-fer and he now has 79 wickets in 49 ODIs. The hosts will also be wary of Tabraiz Shamsi. The left-arm chinaman was the pick of the bowlers with outstanding figures of 4 for 33.
SA Recent Form
The five-wicket win in the first game at Dambulla was South Africa's second win in the seven one-day internationals they have played so far this year. In February, they hosted India for a six-match ODI series which they lost 1-5. The Proteas were brilliant with the ball last time, dismissing Sri Lanka for a paltry 193 before their batsmen knocked off those runs with 19 overs to spare.
South Africa Predicted Playing 11
Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock (wk), Aiden Markram, Faf du Plessis (c), Jean-Paul Duminy, David Miller, Willem Mulder, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Lungi Ngidi
