Toss will be key at the R. Premadasa. Since eight of the last nine T20 internationals played at this ground have been won by the side fielding first, the toss-winning captain is likely to continue with the trend of bowling first.

Sri Lanka Team News & Playing 11
SL Team News
After being left out from the ODI series, former skipper Angelo Mathews has now been dropped from Sri Lanka's T20I squad as well. All-rounder Thisara Perera is set to lead the team that also includes Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal and Niroshan Dickwella. Kusal Perera, who was sidelined for three ODIs due to a leg injury, has returned and so has veteran pace bowler Lasith Malinga who has not played a T20I since more than a year. Sri Lanka have also drafted uncapped off-spinner Kamindu Mendis into their 15-man squad.
SL Key Players
Niroshan Dickwella and Dinesh Chandimal are coming off an impressive ODI series and Sri Lanka will want them to continue their good form. Dickwella seems to be the more in-form batsman with a couple of half-centuries in the series which includes a knock of 95 in the final ODI. Kusal Perera is the team's leading run-getter in T20Is from the current squad and he along with Kusal Mendis are also key figures in this Sri Lankan batting unit. Akila Dananjaya was the standout performer with the ball in ODIs. The off-spinner topped the wickets charts with nine wickets in five matches and he will pose the biggest threat to the English batsmen. Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera rattled the visitors with three quick strikes last time and he will be fired up after that brilliant performance. Thisara Perera is among Sri Lanka's highest wicket-takers in this format and he too is expected to have a good outing here.
SL Recent Form
Sri Lanka have won four and lost three out of the seven T20 internationals they have played this year. Their most recent T20I assignment came in August at home against South Africa. It was a one-off T20 international at this very venue and the hosts ended up winning that game by three wickets. Prior to that however, Sri Lanka could not even make it to the finals of the home tri-series in March that also featured Bangladesh and India.
Sri Lanka Predicted Playing 11
Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Dinesh Chandimal, Dasun Shanaka, Thisara Perera (c), Dhananjaya de Silva, Akila Dananjaya, Lakshan Sandakan, Kasun Rajitha, Dushmantha Chameera
England Team News & Playing 11
ENG Team News
Eoin Morgan, who was rested for the final ODI, is set to return and will be in charge of the 16-man squad. Jonny Bairstow is still nursing his ankle injury he had sustained during a training session during the ODI series and will therefore miss this upcoming T20I as well. Earlier, Liam Dawson had been ruled out of the limited-overs series due to a side strain and was replaced by Joe Denly. England have also added pace bowler Chris Jordan to their T20 squad.
ENG Key Players
Eoin Morgan has scored the most runs for England in the shortest format. The skipper also finished as the leading run-scorer in the ODI series with 195 runs and he is expected to make a major contribution with the bat in this match. Apart from him, the visitors will also look to Alex Hales, Joe Root and Jos Buttler to score the big runs. Hales is featuring amongst the top ten T20I batsmen and he will look to take his team off to a flying start. Adil Rashid has been the most impressive English bowler on this tour with six wickets at a healthy economy of 5.14. The leg-spinner is ranked nine in the ICC T20I bowling rankings and he will not be easy to score off on this surface. ChrisWoakes and Moeen Ali have also bowled well and they too can cause problems for the hosts.
ENG Recent Form
England have not been able to replicate their ODI mojo in the shortest format. They have played eight T20 internationals this year and have lost on five occasions. They played their last T20I series in July at home against India. It was a series of three matches which the hosts lost 1-2. Before that, England defeated Australia by 28 runs in a one-off T20 international at Birmingham.
England Predicted Playing 11
Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (c), Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler (wk), Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Tom Curran/Chris Jordan, Olly Stone/Liam Plunkett
