Sri Lanka meet Australia for the second day in a row in the second of three T20Is on Wednesday evening in Colombo. Tuesday’s opening game of the series saw T20 World Cup holders Australia cruise to a 10 wicket win with 36 balls remaining. Read on as we preview this match. The second T20I begins at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo at 19:00 local time.
Sri Lanka got off to a strong start in the first T20I and were 100-1 from 11.5 overs before collapsing to 128 all out. If they can put together a full innings of solid batting then they will give Australia problems.
Australia were struggling halfway through the Sri Lanka innings but then completely dominated the rest of the game and cruised to victory. They will be looking to continue their strong form in this match.

The hosts opted to pick two spinners, in Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana, and gave Kusal Mendis the gloves, ahead of Bhanuka Rajapaksa who played solely as a batter, in the opening game. Although none of the bowlers were able to get a breakthrough, we expect them to keep faith with the same team for this match.
Sri Lanka were completely outplayed in Colombo on Tuesday evening but they can take confidence that their last T20I victory was against Australia.

There was a little bit of surprise from pundits that Australia chose only one frontline spinner in Ashton Agar ahead of the opening game but the decision looked fully vindicated by the performance of the quicks. Bowling all-rounder Sean Abbott will play no part in the rest of the tour after suffering a finger fracture.

The visitors are once again favourites to win. After Tuesday’s impressive display, they are heavier favourites than ahead of the opening game.
