Who will win Scotland vs United States, Women T20 WC Qualifiers 2019?
Hosts Scotland face the United States in Group A as the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier campaign gets underway. They meet at Forfarshire Cricket Club, Dundee, on August 31, and the match is scheduled to start at 10:00.
The Scots reached the semi-finals of the last Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier, but lost to Bangladesh to miss out on a place in the final tournament. They will hope to go one better this year, having warmed up for the tournament with four wins from six games at the WT20i Quadrangular Series in the Netherlands.
The USA, meanwhile, qualified for this tournament after beating Canada in all three Americas region qualifiers. They lost their warm-up game, however, and still have a long way to go to make up the gulf to the top teams.

Scotland were asked to bat first at Dundee in their warm-up game. They will want to win the toss this time, and will no doubt favour batting first again after success last time out.

Dundee will be wet on Saturday, but it could clear later in the day – there is a small chance this match will be unaffected, but it is only slim.

SCOW Team News
Kathryn Bryce is back in the Scotland squad after not playing in the Quadrangular tournament – the captain’s return is the most notable change from the squad that played in the Netherlands. The squad includes 14-year-old Katherine Fraser, while Abtaha Maqsood is back from injury.
SCOW Key Players
Kathryn Bryce: The 21-year-old Scotland captain, who takes over the leadership from sister Sarah, warmed up for this tournament by taking plenty of wickets for Loughborough in the Kia Super League. She averages 38.66 with the bat and 15.28 with the ball in WT20Is.
Sarah Bryce: The 19-year-old hit a half-century in the warm-up game against Namibia and the wicket-keeper-batsman also finished the Quadrangular Series in the Netherlands in good form – scoring 41 and 49 in her final two matches.
Lorna Jack: Also hit a half-century in the warm-up game, following up her 54* against the Netherlands in Deventer – her first WT20I half-century.
SCOW Team Form
Scotland’s warm-up for this tournament saw them face Ireland, Thailand and the Netherlands in a quadrangular series in Deventer. They lost their first game to Thailand, after being bowled out for 55, and suffered a nine-wicket defeat to Ireland in their most-recent match, but in between won four in a row to prove their form.

USAW Team News
The USA will be captained by Sindhu Sriharsha, who led their batting during the qualifying tournament. They used 13 players against Canada, with only Candacy Atkins absent from the squad chosen for this tournament. Mahika Kandanala and Akshatha Rao are the uncapped players included though Kandanala did not bat or bowl in the warm-up game.
USAW Key Players
Sindhu Sriharsha: The American captain and wicket-keeper-batsman scored 38 and 42* in her two innings in the Americas qualifier to ensure she made a strong start to her official WT20I career. She scored 32* last time she faced Scotland.
Shebani Bhaskar: Scored a half-century against Scotland when they met in Stirling in 2017, while against Canada she scored 22* and 30 in her two innings as the USA qualified for this tournament.
Lisa Ramjit: The 14-year-old medium-pace bowler took five wickets in the three qualifiers against Canada and kept things tidy from her end in the warm-up match too. Surely set for a bright future.
USAW Team Form
The USA’s first ever WT20i matches were in the Americas qualifier against Canada, where they proved by far too strong for their neighbours. In the final game, Sindhu Sriharsha top-scored with 42* in a total of 116/6, and the USA restricted Canada to 81/6.
