Scotland Team News & Playing 11
Team News
Scotland have retained the bulk of the squad that featured at the ICC World Cup Qualifiers held in Zimbabwe two months ago. Kyle Coetzer will be in charge of the 15-man squad that also includes uncapped all-rounder Dylan Budge and former captain Preston Mommsen. Stuart Whittingham, Brad Wheal, Alasdair Evans and Safyaan Sharif are among the bowlers that have been retained. Off-spinner Tom Sole suffered an ankle injury while playing for Northants and has been ruled out of this fixture.
Key Players
Kyle Coetzer and Calum MacLeod are the two big guns in Scotland's batting line-up. They are not only the top two ODI run-scorers for the team but also the leading run-scorers in this format at the Grange Cricket Club. Coetzer who has 605 runs in 13 matches at an average of over 50 at this ground is the key man for Scotland with the bat. Richie Berrington has one century and eleven fifties in ODIs and is the most experienced of all the batsmen in the side. With the ball, Scotland will turn to their seamers Safyaan Sharif, Chris Sole and Alasdair Evans to do the damage. Sharif, with 53 wickets in 35 matches, is among the highest wicket-takers for the side in 50-overs format and he was also their best bowler in the ICC World Cup Qualifier. England will also be wary of Sole and Evans, both of whom have eleven wickets at this ground.
Recent Form
Scotland have four wins, five losses and a tie from the ten one-day internationals they have played so far this year. Their previous ODI assignment came in the ICC World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe where they won four, tied one and lost two out of their seven matches. Scotland made a good start to the tournament with wins in their first three fixtures but a tie against Zimbabwe and back-to-back defeats against Ireland and the West Indies denied them a place in the next year's World Cup.

England Team News & Playing 11
Team News
England have been hit with a couple of injuries ahead of this upcoming ODI against Scotland. All-rounder Ben Stokes has been ruled out with a hamstring injury which could also make him unavailable for the first-half of the ODI series against Australia while fast bowler Chris Woakes will also miss out due to soreness in his leg. Batsmen Dawid Malan and Sam Billings have been drafted into the 14-man squad as replacement for Stokes while pacers Tom Curran and Jake Ball have been included as cover for Woakes. In addition to Stokes and Woakes, England will also miss the services of Jos Buttler who has been rested for this game with Sam Billings called up as his replacement. Captain Eoin Morgan had fractured his finger earlier while playing county cricket but he is expected to fully recover by match day.
Key Players
Joe Root is no. 4 in the ICC ODI player rankings for batsmen. He is averaging 51 in one-day internationals and there is a good chance of him getting a big score here against a relatively weaker Scottish attack. Jonny Bairstow was England's leading run-getter (302 runs in five matches including two centuries) in the last ODI series against New Zealand while Eoin Morgan has scored the most runs for his side after Ian Bell in this format of the game. England's pace bowling will rely mainly on David Willey and Mark Wood. The former has 36 ODI wickets to his name and is a top contender for striking early with the new ball. Spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali will come into play once the ball gets a little softer. Rashid has been the better bowler of the two and is more likely to trouble Scotland with his legbreaks.
Recent Form
England have been pretty impressive this year in the 50-overs format with seven wins from ten matches. Since that 1-2 series loss to India in 2017, Morgan's men have played six bilateral one-day international series till date and have emerged victorious in each of them. They started this year with a 4-1 routing of Australia in Australia before heading off to New Zealand to beat the hosts 3-2 in a five-match series.
England Predicted Playing 11
Sam Billings, Alex Hales, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (c), Moeen Ali, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Liam Plunkett/Jake Ball, Tom Curran, Mark Wood
