Scotland Team News & Playing 11
SCO Team News
Scotland's squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier looks very similar to the one that was named for last month's T20I tri-series in Ireland that also featured Netherlands. Josh Davey, who missed the tri-series due to his commitments with Somerset, has returned. Kyle Coetzer will be leading the team's 15-man squad and could open the batting alongside George Munsey.
SCO Key Players
Calum MacLeod: He is Scotland's key man in the middle-order. He smashed an unbeaten 157 versus Afghanistan at Bulawayo in the 2018 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier. MacLeod has the ability to maintain a high strike-rate throughout his innings.
George Munsey: He now has a fair amount of international experience under his belt and is one of the team's biggest hopes with the bat at the top of the order. The left-handed batsman cracked 127 runs off just 56 balls in the recent tri-series in Ireland.
Safyaan Sharif: He will pose a serious threat to the Singapore batsmen. The pacer is the most successful bowler for Scotland in T20Is having picked 60 wickets in 53 matches. Sharif will look to take early wickets in the powerplay.
SCO Recent Form
Scotland have blown hot and cold this year in the T20 format having won four and lost three out of seven matches. They won the Oman Quadrangular T20I Series in February that also involved Netherlands, Ireland along with hosts Oman. Scotland's previous T20I assignment came last month at the Ireland Tri-Nation T20I Series where they won two out of their four fixtures.
Scotland Predicted Playing 11

Singapore Team News & Playing 11
SIN Team News
Singapore have named a 15-member squad for this upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier. The Amjad Mahboob-led side strikes a fine balance of experience and youth. However, the presence of a few teenagers in the squad will put additional pressure on the more senior players. Rohan Rangarajan and Surendran Chandramohan are likely to open the batting while the skipper along with Vinoth Baskaran could form the new-ball pair.
SIN Key Players
Surendran Chandramohan: He is likely to open the batting and will look to provide a good start to Singapore's innings. Chandramohan scored 124 runs at an impressive average of 41.33 in the tri-series at home and he will be expected to carry that form into this tournament.
Tim David: He is another key figure in this batting unit. The top-order batsman struck a 43-ball 77 versus Nepal in the Asia Finals and a fine 41 to help his team beat Zimbabwe in the home tri-series.
Amjad Mahboob: He will be Singapore's best bet with the ball in this tournament. The captain is one of the team's top T20I bowlers with nine wickets in five matches at an economy of 7.26. The onus will be on him to put Scotland under pressure from the start.
SIN Recent Form
Singapore have played six T20 internationals this year out of which they have won four and lost two. They beat Qatar, Malaysia and Nepal to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Region Final held at home in the month of July. Singapore, however, could not win the recently concluded home Twenty20 Tri-Series but they managed to cause an upset by defeating Zimbabwe.
Singapore Predicted Playing 11
Rohan Rangarajan, Surendran Chandramohan, Tim David, Aritra Dutta, Manpreet Singh (wk), Janak Prakash, Navin Param, Sidhant Singh, Selladore Vijayakumar, Amjad Mahboob (c), Vinoth Baskaran
Scotland vs Singapore Head to Head
Scotland and Singapore have never faced each other before in a T20 international. The two countries will be facing-off for the very first time in the history of the game's twenty-over format.
Scotland vs Singapore Betting Odds
Scotland begin as firm favorites to win this opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019 at extremely short odds of 1.18 with Betway, 1.22 with Bet365 and 1.19 with 10CRIC. Singapore are huge underdogs for this game and they have been priced much higher at 4.50 on Betway, 4.33 on Bet365 and 4.30 on 10CRIC.
🏆 Scotland vs Singapore Prediction
Scotland are coming into this tournament as the highest ranked T20I team among their competitors. They shared the trophy with Netherlands in the previous T20 World Cup Qualifier in 2015 and are one of the strongest contenders to win the tournament again. Scotland have the upper hand in the fact that they have played a few matches at this ground while Singapore have never played here before. The latter, however, should gain some confidence from their recent historic win over Zimbabwe. Nevertheless, Scotland have a lot more experience in their side and we expect them to begin their campaign with a win.
