South Africa replaced JP Duminy and Tabraiz Shamsi by Aiden Markram and Beuran Hendricks respectively in their rained-out encounter against the West Indies. Markram and Hendricks could both be retained for this game and so the Proteas are expected to go in with an unchanged line-up.
Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis and Rassie van der Dussen have all hit a half-century each in the tournament and are the key figures in this South African batting outfit. de Kock has scored the most runs for the team and was the most impressive of the lot in the opening game against England. Rassie van der Dussen has been pretty consistent and the Proteas will be expecting a healthy contribution from him. South Africa will tun to their mean weapons in Kagiso Rabada, Andile Phehlukwayo and Imran Tahir to deliver the goods for them with the ball. Rabada will open the South African pace attack and he will be backed by his team to pick wickets upfront with the new ball.
South Africa are yet to win a game in this World Cup and they are currently lying in the ninth place in the CWC 2019 league standings. The have played four matches so far and have just one point that they received from their washed out encounter against the West Indies last time. The Proteas faced defeats against England, Bangladesh and India prior to that.

Afghanistan made three changes to their side in the last match against New Zealand. They brought in wicketkeeper Ikram Alikhil as a replacement for Mohammad Shahzad who had been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup after aggravating his knee injury. Dawlat Zadran was rested and replaced with Aftab Alam while Noor Ali Zadran came in place of Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
With Mohammad Shahzad out of the tournament, Afghanistan's batting will depend mainly on the likes of Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi at the top along with Mohammad Nabi in the middle order. Hazratullah has scored 64 runs in his last two outings while Hashmatullah is coming off a fifty against New Zealand and that should really boost his confidence. Nabi is yet to make a mark with the bat in this World Cup. However, the offspinner has been the pick of the Afghan bowlers so far with four wickets at a very impressive economy of 4.44. While he and Rashid Khan will be Afghanistan's key men in the middle overs, the onus to provide the early breakthroughs will be on Aftab Alam who snared three scalps last time out.
Like South Africa, Afghanistan too are in search of their first win in the tournament and they are languishing at the bottom of the CWC 2019 points table having lost all their first three fixtures. Their opened their World Cup campaign with a heavy seven-wicket loss to Australia at Bristol, then headed off to Cardiff where they lost to Sri Lanka by 34 runs (DLS method) before being handed a seven-wicket thrashing by New Zealand at Taunton.

South Africa and Afghanistan have never played an ODI against each other. This is the first time that the two countries will be facing each other in the game's fifty-over format.
South Africa are favorites to win this match at 1.11 with Betway, 1.12 with Bet365 and 1.10 with Betrally. Afghanistan are distant outsiders at 5.90 with Betrally and 6 with Betway and Bet365.
South Africa and Afghanistan are both desperate for a win after having lost their first three matches. This is a must-win game for both the teams as neither of them can afford any more slip-ups. Afghanistan may have decent bowling attack but their batting seems way too vulnerable in these conditions. The Proteas have not had desirable results until now and this is a fine opportunity for them to end their losing streak.
