Kuwait are favorites to win
Qatar will take on Kuwait at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Doha. This T20I gets underway at 16:00 local time on Monday 18th September, 2023.
This pitch has something for both the pace bowlers but also provides turn for the spinners. Any score over 165 should be enough to win the match.

The tournament hosts were unable to make it two wins from two as they went down to a 19 run defeat to Oman late on Sunday afternoon. Interestingly, both of Qatar’s matches in the Gulf Cricket T20I Championship have been decided by a margin of 19 runs.
After top scoring in their opening match, it was a surprise to see Muhammad Tanveer batting at number six for Qatar against Oman. Opener Saqlain Arshad has hit over 50 runs in the competition so far and he will be a key batter for Qatar in this game.
The Qatari bowlers thought they had done their job well when they dismissed Oman for 149 from the final ball of their innings on Sunday. However, it could have been even better as at one point Oman were 13-3. Qatar need more contributions from their change bowlers in this match.
Qatar have been involved in two close games so far in the tournament but their defeat on Sunday was their first in three T20Is.
Muhammad Tanveer, Bipin Kumar, Bukhar Illikkal, Himanshu Rathod, Imal Liyanage (wk), Muhammad Murad (c), Adnan Mirza, Mirza Mohammed Baig, Muhammad Jabir, Saqlain Arshad, Jassim Khan
It has been an excellent start to the Gulf Cricket T20I Championship for Kuwait who come into this clash after already beating Saudi Arabia by 5 wickets with 9 balls remaining and Kuwait by 8 wickets with 37 balls remaining. Confidence will be high in the Kuwait camp ahead of this game against Qatar.
It looked like Kuwait might struggle to maintain their early 100% record in the competition when they were 2-2 with both of their opening batters dismissed in their last match. However, Meet Bhavsar and Usman Patel will come into this match feeling good about their batting after producing a 125 run unbeaten third wicket partnership.
Kuwait’s bowling attack is very strong with the trio of Yasin Patel, Shiraz Khan and Mohammed Aslam key to their success in Monday’s match. Leg-spinner Khan produced his best T20I figures in the win over Bahrain so the Qatar batters may look to get on top early and attack him.
After beating Bahrain in March as well, Kuwait come into this match targeting their fourth successive T20I win.
Ravija Sandaruwan, Adnan Idrees, Meet Bhavsar, Usman Patel (wk), Mohammed Aslam (c), Ahsan ul Haq, Yasin Patel, Shiraz Khan, Parvindar Kumar, Shahrukh Quddus, Sayed Monib
Qatar have some very good players, particularly with the ball, but we think they will struggle to beat a strong and in-form Kuwait team. With comfortable wins over Saudi Arabia and Bahrain already, we are backing Kuwait to win this match and make it three from three.
