After two defeats apiece from their opening matches, Puducherry and Andhra meet in Group E of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with both teams desperate for a first win. The match will take place at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on January 15 and the live action starts at 19:00 local time.
Puducherry have showed more with the bat than Andhra so far, but they failed to defend 138/6 against Kerala despite Ashith Rajiv’s all-round form and then could not defend 148/4 against Haryana. New signing Sheldon Jackson hit 82 from 50 balls in the most recent game.
Andhra, on the other hand, struggled to 107/6 in their opening match – a six-wicket loss to Haryana. They improved slightly last time out, but their total of 124/9 against Delhi was never going to be enough as they crashed to a six-wicket loss.

Though both teams have lost two from two so far, Puducherry have looked the better with the bat. Sheldon Jackson’s batting last time out was a big positive and they can use that momentum to beat Andhra and earn their first win.
