Our Pick Perth Scorchers are favorites to win
Perth Scorchers will take on Brisbane Heat in the 44th match of the Big Bash League. The match will be played at the Docklands Stadium and is set to get underway at 7:15 PM local time.
After 5 back to back wins, Perth Scorchers handed an easy win to the Sydney Sixers in their last match. That was expected though as Perth had played all their previous 5 matches on the pacy track of Perth and getting used the slow conditions of Melbourne was always going to be difficult for them.
The batting did reasonably well, it was the bowlers that couldn’t find the right lengths. However, having already played a game, they must have got an idea about how to bowl on such wickets. We expect them to perform better in the next game.
Jhye Richardson, Jason Behrendorff, Andrew Tye and Fawad Ahmed forms a quality bowling line up.
With Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone and Colin Munro as the top three and Josh Inglish, Ashton Turner and Cameron Bancroft to follow, Scorchers have one of the best batting line ups in the tournament. The batsmen have been in top form as well. Undoubtedly, Perth Scorchers are favourites for this match.
It’s not that Brisbane Heat can’t win, they’ve been very good in the second half of the tournament but if we take out Chris Lynn from their batting, none of the other players have lived up to the expectations. We think that the batting will struggle if Lynn gets out cheaply.
Morne Morkel played his first match of the tournament and looked really good against the Renegades. Mark Steketee and Matthew Kuhnemann too bowled their heart out.
The bowling looks very good, and if the batsmen can play as per their reputation, we might have a very good game. As of now, Scorchers are our preferred pick..

The toss could either way. It’s a new venue so the captains might opt to bowl
We’ve not seen the pitch so we’re unsure about it’s behavior. But traditionally, the venue have produced pretty good batting tracks.
It’ll be a clear day in Melbourne with temperatures around 15 degrees

Perth Scorchers have a very strong team. Their batting looks top class while the bowling to second to none. For Heat, they look too dependent on Chris Lynn. Once he fails, they will be in a lot of trouble. For us, Perth Scorchers are the favourites for this match.
Wicket Keeper
Josh Iglish at 8.5 is a good pick. Inglish has been very consistent for the Scorchers
Batsmen
Chris Lynn at 10.5, Colin Munro at 9.5, Joe Burns at 9.0 and Max Bryant at 8.5 will form a strong batting order. Munro has three fifties in his last 4 games while Lynn is the best Heat batsmen and is in top form. He scored a 50 in the last game. Joe Burns played a quick fire knock in the previous game and helped his team clinch a nail biter while Bryant is consistently getting 20’s and 30’s and we believe he’s just about to explode.
All rounder
Liam Livingstone and Jack Wildermuth at 9.0 will be our all rounders. Livingstone is coming back from back to back fifties while Wildermuth has been very consistent with the ball.
Bowlers
Jhye Richarson at 9.0, Mark Steketee at 9.0, Fawad Ahmed and Morne Morkel at 8.5 forms a strong bowling unit. Richardson is spitting venom with his bowling in the last few matches and looks to be at the top of his game. Steketee too has been very good and very consistent. Morkel played his first game aganst Renegades and looked in fine form while Fawad Ahmed will add variety to our bowling department. The wicket might favour the spinners so he may be handy.
Captain /Vice Captain
Colin Munro is our preferred captain while Chris Lynn can be backed as his deputy
Batsmen:Chris Lynn(vc), Colin Munro©, Max Bryant, Joe Burns
All Rounder:Liam Livingstone, Jack Wildermuth
Wicket Keeper:Josh Inglish
Bowler:Jhye Richardson, Mark Steketee, Morne Morkel, Fawad Ahmed
