Our Pick Adelaide Strikers are favourites to win
Perth Scorchers will take on Adelaide Strikers in the 17th match of the Big Bash League. The match will be played at the Adelaide Oval and is scheduled to get underway at 6:45 PM local time.
Perth Scorchers hasn’t had a favourable start to the tournament with 2 losses and and abandoned game. Their upcoming game against Adelaide Strikers thus stands of utmost importance as a loss will peg them back big time.
As with most teams in the tournament, Perth is also struggling in their batting. Apart from of 52 from Mitchell Marsh against Sydney Thunders, none of the Perth Scorchers batsmen have got runs in the three games they’ve played in the tournament. No wonder they’re struggling at the bottom of the table.
Players like Josh Inglish, Colin Munro, Mitch Marsh, Ashton Turner are quality batsmen but haven’t lived up to the expectation. One thing is very certain that if they continue to bat the way they are, Perth will have a hard time in the tournament. It’s still early days and few innings can get their campaign back on track. Also, the addition of Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone in the squad is big boost for the Perth Scorchers
Perth fans will be hoping that all these reputed T-20 batsmen can get into their groove and if they do, we’ll have a great match on our hands.
In the bowling department, Jason Behrendorff, Jhye Richarson, Andrew Tye, Fawad Ahmed have been decent but there is plenty of scope for improvement.
For Adelaide, they picked up an impressive win against Brisbane Heat but their batting again wasn’t up to the mark. Jake Weatherald, Philip Salt, Alex Carey, Matt Renshaw, Jonathan Wells, Matthew Short, all are good batsmen and are getting starts as well but are not converting it to big scores which will be a cause of concern. Someone from the top 4 need to play the sheet anchor role and bat through the innings. If not, their batting will be under tremendous pressure.
The bowling is doing fine with Wes Agar, Rashid Khan and Danny Briggs bowling pretty well. Only if their batsmen can bat decently, Adelaide will be very hard to beat.

Adelaide has always been a bat first wicket. Both captains would want to call the coin right.
Adelaide offers a terrific surface for the batsmen. It’s a little slow wicket so bowlers like Rashid Khan will enjoy bowling here. Chasing won’t be easy at all.
Weather looks fine with bright sunshine with scattered clouds. The temperature will be around the 20’s which is very pleasing.

Jason Roy at 10, Jake Weatherald at 9.5 and Colin Munro at 9.5 forms a destructive batting order. This will be Jason Roy’s first match in the tournament and we all know how good a player he is. Jake Weatherald has also batted well on occasions and even though Muro hasn’t been at his best in the tournament, we expect him to be back among the runs pretty soon
All rounder
Mitch Marsh at 9.5 and Matt Renshaw are the two all rounders in our team. Marsh is fresh from a brilliant 50 in the last game while Matt Renshaw also looked good in his brief knock.
