PAK vs SA 1st T20 Prediction & Betting Tips
Both Pakistan and South Africa are looking to get back to winning ways in T20 international cricket when they turn their attention to the shortest format in the next leg of the Proteas’ tour. The three-game T20i series kicks off on February 11 and the live action at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore kicks off at 15:30 local time.
Pakistan lost their most recent T20i series to New Zealand, but the fourth-ranked team in T20i cricket did at least win the third and final game in that series. In Babar Azam, they boast the second-top batsman in world T20 cricket and he will lead the hosts again.
South Africa, meanwhile, have selected an experimental side with no places for, among others, Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, Lungi Ndidi and Kagiso Rabada. It will therefore be a much-changed team from that which lost 3-0 to England in their most recent T20i series.

Pakistan Team News & Playing 11
PAK Team News
Led by Babar Azam, Pakistan have a strong squad for this series though there is no place for veterans Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. From the most recent win against New Zealand, therefore, Babar Azam could come back into the team to partner Mohammad Rizwan at the top of the order.
PAK Key Players
- Babar Azam: Back to lead Pakistan in this series, his presence with the bat will be key to bolstering a side that ended their last season in good form.
- Mohammad Rizwan: Fresh from his unbeaten 115 in the final innings of the most recent test, he also hit 89 at the top of the order against New Zealand in his most recent T20 innings.
- Shaheen Afridi: Took four wickets in the series against Pakistan and now has 92 wickers in 68 T20 international matches.
PAK Team Form
Pakistan won their most recent T20i match, chasing 177 to beat New Zealand thanks to Mohammad Rizwan’s 89, but it was not enough to secure a series win. They had previously failed to defend 153/9 and 163/6 in their defeats in the two opening matches.
Pakistan Predicted Playing 11
Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Haider Ali, Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Hussain Talat, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Hasnain
South Africa Team News & Playing 11
SA Team News
South Africa have a vastly changed squad from their series defeat to England, with Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi all among the players left out as South Africa experiment ahead with the T20i World Cup in sight.
SA Key Players
- Janneman Malan: Hammered his maiden ODI century against Australia before the enforced pause, and arrives in this series on the back of some strong form for Cape Cobras.
- David Miller: Preparing for his Pakistan Super League stint, the big-hitting batsman found some much needed form in his most recent Dolphins innings and will now look to close in on 7,000 T20 runs.
- George Linde: Tidy with the ball against England, coming out of his first T20i series with an economy rate of just a fraction over a run a ball.
SA Team Form
South Africa lost their most recent T20i series 3-0 to England, with their inability to defend 191/3 in the third and final game of the series summing up a difficult series. They also lost 2-1 to Australia before that after being bowled out for 96 in the series decider.
South Africa Predicted Playing 11
Heinrich Klaasen (c), Janneman Malan, Reeza Hendricks, Ryan Rickelton (wk), David Miller, Pite van Biljon, Andile Phehlukwayo, George Linde, Bjorn Fortuin, Lutho Sipamla, Tabraiz Shamsi
