Who will win Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, 3rd ODI?
Pakistan and Sri Lanka’s three-game ODI series at the National Stadium, Karachi, concludes on October 2, with the third match scheduled to start at 15:00 local time. Pakistan lead the series 1-0 after winning the second game – the first was washed out.
Victory was no more than was expected of Pakistan, given they have a full-strength squad at their disposal and Sri Lanka are without several senior players because of security concerns. Babar Azam’s fine batting form continued last time out to ensure the hosts lived up to expectations.
Sri Lanka, for their part, had some positives to pick out – Shehan Jayasuriya’s 96 in a total of 238 all out being the obvious one. Lacking their senior players, however, the 67-run defeat reflected the differences in the strength of the two squads.

PAK vs SL Toss Prediction
Batting first on this Karachi wicket definitely looks the way to go – Pakistan won the toss and did just that last time out, and Sri Lanka will be keen to win the toss to give themselves at least a small chance of narrowing the gap to the hosts.
PAK vs SL Weather Report
A few clouds will not mask the fact conditions should be excellent on Wednesday in Karachi. With temperatures consistently in the low 30s and the chance of rain extremely low, it should be a good end to the series weather-wise.
PAK vs SL Pitch Condition
Karachi has favoured batting in recent matches, particularly in the first innings. Pakistan proved as much by scoring 305 from their 50 overs last time out.

With Shaheen Afridi ill and Hasan Ali injured, Usman Shinwari was recalled to the Pakistan squad for this series and showed exactly what he offers with the ball with a five-wicket haul last time out. He was one of two recalled players to slot straight back into the 11 – Iftikhar Ahmed was the other, and his batting should be sufficient to keep his place too.
PAK Key Players
Mohammad Amir: While he only took one wicket himself, his opening partnership with Usman Shinwari was key last time out. He finished with 1-21 from his seven overs, including 30 dot balls, to build pressure that Shinwari then exploited with his 5-51.
Babar Azam: Pakistan’s top scorer at the World Cup picked up where he left off in that tournament, as he hit 115 from 105 balls last time out. His 11th ODI century, in his 71st innings, means he now averages 54.55 in ODI cricket.
Usman Shinwari: His excellent bowling at the top of the Sri Lankan innings set Pakistan on course for victory last time out. He helped reduced the tourists to 28/5 from 10.1 overs with a devastating opening spell and then returned to complete his five-wicket haul.
PAK Team Form
Pakistan have now won five ODIs in a row, backing up their strong finish at the World Cup with victory in the opening game of this series. Babar Azam hit 96 in their final World Cup match and went even better with 115 in a total of 305/7 last time out. Usman Shinwari’s five-wicket haul then guided the hosts to a big win – Sri Lanka eventually all out for 238 in reply.
Pakistan Predicted Playing 11
Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Imad Wasim, Sarfaraz Ahmed (c, wk), Iftikhar Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Usman Shinwari

SL Team News
There was no debut behind the stumps for Minod Banuka last time out – Sadeera Samarawickrama taking the gloves instead – but Banuka’s time could come in this final game instead. The top-order struggled last time out but it was the strongest Sri Lanka had on paper so changes may be minimal.
SL Key Players
Shehan Jayasuriya: Rescued Sri Lanka from what could have been an embarrassing defeat last time out, hitting 96 – his highest ODI score – to lift the tourists from 28/5 to 238 all out. He can also keep an end tidy with the ball too, though he is not a prolific wicket-taker.
Isuru Udana: Another opportunity missed to prove he can lead this bowling attack, but his T20 form has proved what he can do and he needs to translate that to ODI cricket. He finished with 1-60 last time out.
Lahiru Thirimanne: Lasted just three balls before edging behind last time out but his ODI record shows what he can offer in the middle order as he looks to lead from the front. He has hit 21 ODI half-centuries and passed 100 on four occasions too.
SL Team Form
Sri Lanka came into this series on the back of a whitewash win against Bangladesh, but they were never likely to match that with a much weaker team this time out. It proved the case as Pakistan set them 306 to win and they found themselves 28/5 from 10.1 overs in reply. Shehan Jayasuriya’s 96 lifted them to 238 all out but victory never looked to be on the cards after that top-order collapse.
Sri Lanka Predicted Playing 11
Avishka Fernando, Danushka Gunathilaka, Oshada Fernando, Lahiru Thirimanne (c), Dasun Shanaka, Shehan Jayasuriya, Minod Banuka (wk), Wanindu Hasaranga, Nuwan Pradeep, Isuru Udana, Lahiru Kumara
