Toss Prediction
Eight of the last ten one-day internationals played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium have been won by the side batting first. So since the pitch here tends to offer more assistance to the bowlers during the second period of play, the toss-winning skipper is more likely to bat first.

Pakistan Team News & Playing 11
PAK Team News
Pakistan have dropped Shan Masood and an out-of-form Mohammad Amir for this upcoming ODI series and have included allrounders Mohammad Hafeez and Imad Wasim in their 15-man squad. Imam-ul-Haq, Haris Sohail and Junaid Khan, who were all overlooked for the T20I series, have returned to the side for the longer format. Mohammad Hafeez and Fakhar Zaman are likely to open the batting for the hosts with Babar Azam coming in at number three.
PAK Key Players
Mohammad Hafeez and Babar Azam were Pakistan's best batsmen in the just concluded T20I series with 132 and 126 runs respectively. Both are coming on the back of half-centuries in their last innings and they will look to keep up the good work. Opening batsman Fakhar Zaman averages 59 in ODIs and he too is a key figure in this batting line-up. Hasan Ali features in the list of top ten ODI bowlers and it will be crucial that he strikes early on. The big threat, however, will come from the spin pair of Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan. Both did exceptionally well for Pakistan in the three T20Is and shared five wickets between them in the last game. Wasim has been in good rhythm since making his comeback to the side and he is more likely to grab the best figures on Wednesday.
PAK Recent Form

New Zealand Team News & Playing 11
NZ Team News
New Zealand have been dealt a couple of injury blows ahead of their opening ODI encounter against Pakistan. Corey Anderson, who missed the final T20I due to a heel injury, needs more time to recuperate and has therefore been ruled out of the entire series. Legspinner Todd Astle is currently nursing his knee injury and is set to miss at least the first one-day international at Abu Dhabi. The Kiwis have drafted left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel into their 14-man ODI squad as replacement for Astle.
NZ Key Players
Kane Williamson scored the most runs for New Zealand in the T20I series. The skipper blitzed a 38-ball 60 in the last game and he looks set for another strong batting display on this tour. With Corey Anderson out injured, the team's middle-order batting will depend heavily on Ross Taylor and Colin de Grandhomme. Taylor is sixth in the ICC ODI batting rankings while de Grandhomme is one of the best finishers in the side. Trent Boult and Tim Southee are the main weapons in New Zealand's pace attack. Boult is the World No. 4 ODI bowler and he is expected to provide the early breakthroughs. Ish Sodhi was not quite up to the mark in the ODIs and the team will need him to find some form going into this game.
NZ Recent Form
New Zealand have won seven and lost just three out of the ten one-day internationals they have played so far this year. They played their first ODI series of the year against Pakistan at home which they ended up winning 5-0. New Zealand Predicted Playing 11
