NWD vs LIO T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips, CSA T20 Challenge 2022

North West will take on Lions at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. Match 2 of the CSA T20 Challenge gets underway at 18:00 local time on Sunday, October 16th.

North West

With three wins and four defeats, North West picked up 13 points and finished in fifth place in the last CSA T20 Challenge. Unlike many of the other teams in this tournament, they are not missing a number of players to the T20 World Cup.

NWD Batting

Wesley Marshall hit 150 runs in the tournament in February and alongside Heino Kuhn, who hit 136, the pair will be expected to score the bulk of the runs for North West this year. Young all-rounder Duan Jansen is capable of big hitting down the order.

Left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy, who has two Test caps for South Africa, was the leading wicket taker for North West in the last campaign. His 10 wickets came at a very impressive average of 9.90 and included best figures of 4-20. Duan Jansen will get plenty of pace on this surface.

North West ended the last T20 Challenge with two losses and a win from their final three games.

Lions

Only net-run-rate kept Lions from finishing bottom of the table in February. They had a very disappointing campaign and only won two matches - their first two games - before going on a very poor run which saw them lose five consecutive fixtures.

LIO Batting

24 year old Mitchell Van Buuren was the top run scorer for Lions and he boosted his reputation after hitting 204 runs at an average of 40.80. He hit two half-centuries with a top score of 67 not out. Ryan Rickelton has been capped at Test level this year and is capable of aggressive hitting.

LIO Bowling

Off-spinner Liam Alder has had a very successful 12 months particularly with the South Africa U-19s. He performed well for them in the U-19 World Cup before taking 11 wickets in the CSA T20 Provincial Cup last month. 31 year old pace bowler Sisanda Magala will bowl the important overs at the end of the innings.

Lions are looking to avoid their sixth successive defeat in this competition.
