Our Pick England Women are favourites to win
New Zealand women will take on England women in the 1st match of the three match ODI series. The match will be played at the Hagley Oval and is set to get underway at 2:00 PM local time.
The hosts boast of a quality side which will be lead by Sophie Devine, the best all rounder going around in world cricket. Maddy Green, Natalie Dodd and Katey Martin forms a solid batting line up. Also, Amy Sattherwaite, Amelia Kerr and Hayley Jensen adds a lot of depth and balance to the team. Lea Tahuhu will lead their charge with the ball. She'll be supported by the all rounders like Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr, Maddy Green in the bowling.
England has always been a top side and is very difficult to beat whether they are playing at home or away. They have brutal strength in their team that can decimate any opposition. Heather Knight, Danielle Wyatt, Tammy Beaumont, Fran Wilson, and Amy Ellen Jones forms a solid batting line up. Just like the hosts, England too have a number of all rounders. Had this been a T20 match, we would have give New Zealand the favourites tag but the kind of players they have are more suited to the shorter format. When it comes to 50 over matches, England looks far superior to the hosts. For us, England are favourites to start.
