Australia women are favourites to win
New Zealand women will take on Australia women in the 2nd ODI on 7th April. The match will be played on at the Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui and is set to get underway at 7:00 PM local time
Australia women have been on a rampage in ODIs and surpassed registered their 23rd consecutive victory. They've looked invincible on this tour and will back themselves to win the ODI series in the 2nd ODI itself. They were too good for the White Ferns and dominant them both with bat and ball. Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner scored impressive 50s and Australia made mockery of a 213 runs target. The bowlers were also right on the money.
For the host, they just don't seem to have any answers to this Australia team. The main issue with New Zealand women is their batting that's been disappointing throughout the tour. Lauren Down batted well but there were no partnerships to get them to a respectable total. Their chances in the next game also looks very grim.
The match will be played at the Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. The wicket in the first match was good for batting. The bowlers did get some purchase with the new ball though. We expect the wicket to play the same, good for batting with something in it for the bowlers with the new ball.
