Our Pick New Zealand are favorites to win
After annihilating the Caribbean visitors in the first Test, New Zealand take on West Indies in the final Test of the series. The match will be played at the Basin Reserve, Wellington and is scheduled to get underway at 11:00 AM local time.
Not much was expected of West Indies against this full strength New Zealand side but the way they surrendered is really disappointing to see.
Not that it wasn't expected but New Zealand were top class in the first Test. First they imposed a mammoth 519, which to be fair was a massive total in some pretty challenging conditions, then they blew West Indies away with some quality bowling.
Kane Williamson was the star of the inning with a scintillating 251. Mind you, it was not easy to bat out there against some quality bowling. Tom Latham also played a fine innings of 86 and showed why he is regarded as one of the best Test batsmen of this generation.
For the second match, Kane Williamson won't be available so players like Will Young, Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls and Tom Blundell would have to play with more responsibility.
From the bowling perspective, in these conditions, New Zealand can trouble the best batting line ups. Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner, all were exceptional with the ball and will continue to pose a stern challenge for the visitors.
For West Indies, I'm afraid to say, but they look defeated even before the start of the second Test. Their batting just doesn't seem to suit this format of the game. Yes, they have some players that have performed well in the longer version of the game but to win a Test match, you need a lot of temperament and skills.
Unfortunately, West Indies lack these things. Apart from Jermaine Blackwood who scored a quick fired 104, none of them looked good enough against this New Zealand attack. No doubt their batting is an issue and if they want to challenge New Zealand, let alone win the match, their batting needs to come good but this won’t be easy at all against the kind of bowling attack New Zealand have. Also, Kemar Roach, their best bowler will not be available for the second Test as he's returned home after the unfortunate demise of his father.
All in all, West Indies is no where close to this New Zealand team and will need something close to a miracle to beat New Zealand. They have done that in the past so it's not impossible, but very difficult.
SonySix will live telecast the match in India while SparkSport and ESPN have the broadcasting rights for New Zealand and West Indies respectively. UK Visitors can watch the match live on Sports Cricket.

There is some rain predicted on Day 1 of the Test match so the captains might look to bowl first which makes toss important.
The forecast is for some showers on Day 1 but gets better as the match progresses
Wellington is generally a good batting wicket but offers enough assistance to the bowlers if they bowl in the right areas.

BJ Watling missed out from the 1st Test due to an injury but has been declared fit for the second Test. He's most likely to make a cut into the team. Also, Kane Williamson will miss the second Test as he's been granted the paternity leave by New Zealand Cricket. Tom Latham will lead the side for the final Test. Williamson's absence will slightly balance out the difference between the two teams but still New Zealand are far, far ahead of West Indies.
New Zealand thrashed West Indies in the 1st Test by an innings and 134 runs..
Tom Latham, Will Young, Tom Blundell, Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls, BJ Watling (wk), Daryl Mitchell, Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, Trent Boult
West Indies were already buries to grave by New Zealand and now they have to go in the second Test without the services if Kemar Roach and Shane Dowrich. Kemar Roach will fly back home due his father's demise and Dowrich has pulled out of the second Test because of some personal reason. The 22-year-old wicket-keeper-batsman, Joshua DaSilva, is set to make his debut, after being named Dowrich's replacement.

New Zealand are far superior team than West Indies and are big favourites for this match.
West Indies need something extraordinary to pull off a win against this New Zealand team. At the moment, their situation doesn't look too promising.
Wicket-keeper
BJ Watling at 9.0 is the best choice from this section. He has been very consistent for New Zealand and is very solid batsmen. You can also opt for Joshua Da Silva who'll replace Shane Dowrich in the XI at 8.0 credits.
Batsmen
Ross Taylor at 9.5, Tom Latham at 9.5, Jermaine Blackwood at 9.0 and Kraigg Brathwaite at 9.0 are good picks. You can also select John Campbell to manage the credits at 8.0 . Ross Taylor is among the most experienced batsmen in this New Zealand batting. Without Williamson, Taylor will have to take the responsibility to anchor the innings. Tom Latham is another player who's been very good for New Zealand at the top. He missed out on a century in the last match but will hope that he cross that mark in the second Test. Kraigg Braithwaite is the most technically sound batsmen from West Indies and Jermaine Blackwood scored a brilliant hundred in the second innings of the 1st Test.
All-rounders
Jason Holder can be opted for at 10.0 while Roston Chase can be bought for 9.0. Both of them are a key figure in this West Indian set up. Holder has been terrific both with the bat and ball while Roston Chase might get some purchase out of the pitch.
Bowlers
Trent Boult at 9,0, Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson and Shannon Gabriel at 8.5 can be backed from this section. The New Zealand pace trio forms a lethal pace attack and are certain to trouble the West Indian batsmen. For West Indian, Shannon Gabriel is the best bowler in the absence of Kemar Roach.
Captain/Vice-captain
Tom Latham can be selected as the skipper while Jason Holder can be backed as his deputy.
Batsmen:Ross Taylor, John Campbell, Tom Latham(C), Kraigg Brathwaite and Jermaine Blackwood
