New Zealand have been dealt with injury blows to two of their key players – Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. While Ravindra did not play the last game, Conway was injured while keeping and did not bat. Their availability for the third T20I is doubtful.

- Finn Allen- Finn Allen will have to take the load of Kiwi batting. In the absence of some of the regular players, he is the senior pro and if New Zealand have to make a comeback, he needs to play well. He scored over 270 runs vs Pakistan and he needs to be at his best against Australia as well.
- Glenn Phillips- Phillips is also very capable to tackle the Aussie attack. He scored 42 in the last game but since Conway and Ravindra is most likely to miss the game, his responsibility increases more. He needs to score a large chunk of New Zealand’s run if they are to compete vs Australia
- Lockie Ferguson- Ferguson continued his good run and bagged 4 wickets for 12 runs in the second T20I. So far, he has taken five wickets and gave away just 35 runs in eight overs in the series.
