Batting is going to revolve mostly around Arjun Hoysala, Manish Pandey and Raju Bhatkal who have been their best batsmen this season. Hoysala is among the tournament's top 5 batsmen with 220 runs at an average of 44. He scored a fifty in the last match and had made 44 runs against Namma Shivamogga last year. He, thus, will be the key in the Warriors batting lineup and a favorite to top-score for them.
With the ball, Mysuru Warriors are going to depend on Jagadeesha Suchith, Vyshak Vijay Kumar and Krishnappa Gowtham. All three of them have taken wickets consistently this year and Namma Shivamogga will look to be watchful against them. Kumar has taken 11 wickets so far and is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament. The medium pacer bagged a four-for in the last match and he could pick up the most wickets for the Warriors in this match as well.
Top-order batting will rely on Dega Nischal and Shreyas Gopal while skipper Stuart Binny and Pavan Deshpande form the key members in the middle order. Nischal and Binny have well-made fifties in the last match and these two could put Namma Shivamogga in a good position if they are able to get the big runs. Binny has got the most runs for them this year and we expect him to top-score in this match.
For picking up early wickets and drying up the flow of runs, Namma Shivamogga will be counting on Stuart Binny, KP Appanna and Shreyas Gopal. Of the three, it is the spin duo Appanna and Gopal who will pose the biggest threat for the Mysuru Warriors. Legspinner Gopal has been one of the most successful bowlers for the team. He picked up a couple of scalps in the previous match and could be the top bowler for Namma Shivamogga.
Namma Shivamogga find themselves in a must-win situation. They will have to overcome Mysuru Warriors on Friday if they are to keep their hopes for the semis alive. The fact that they beat the Warriors last year will give them the much needed self-belief that they could beat them again. So Shivamogga have an edge in terms of head-to-head stats.
Mysuru Warriors, on the other hand, have already made it through to the semis and they will be playing with no pressure at all. They have won the KPL before and are looking unstoppable at the moment with wins in every match they have played this year. Moreover, they have been playing in the KPL since its inaugural season while this is only the second season for the Shivamogga.
It's a crunch game for Namma Shivamogga and they will want to win it at any cost. However, on account of more experience and better performance in the KPL, we predict former champions Mysuru Warriors to win this match.
