Mumbai on the other had a consistent run in the league matches, winning 9 of the 14 matches. Mumbai as a team was dominant with each and every player of them contributing to their success. For Delhi, their batting didn’t perform exceptionally well, especially in the later stages of the tournament. Shikhar Dhawan and Marcus Stonis looked a class apart but rest of the batsmen were not quite up to the standard. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant were the biggest disappointment of all. The promotion of Marcus Stoinis however looks like a masterstroke that Delhi could have tried earlier. As a bowling unit Delhi is second best to Mumbai in terms of quality. Coming this Tuesday, there is nothing that separates the two teams on paper. While most people would like to pick Mumbai as a winner of this match, we would like to go in with Delhi Capitals. Not because they are playing any better cricket but from match one, this year looked like Delhi Capital’s year. This is the best they’ve ever played and they won’t let go this opportunity with ease.
