Dolphins won the toss and elected to field first when these sides last met, as they have tended to do this season.

After their match against Knights was rained off without a toss even possible, Lions must decide whether to stick with the team that beat Titans – including Nono Pongolo and Migael Pretorius in for Beuran Hendricks and Wihan Lubbe – or make changes.
After storming into South Africa’s World Cup squad thanks to his excellent form in the past 12 months, Rassie van der Dussen was back to his best when he top-scored with 85 in the win against Titans.
He shared a monster partnership with Reeza Hendricks in that win, with Hendricks – who hit 65 and 66 in his two most recent T20 innings for South Africa – adding 77 to also return to his best form.
Ryan Rickleton is their leading run scorer, however – he has hit 142 courtesy of two half-centuries in the first two matches.
The last time these two teams met, it was the bowling of Bjorn Fortuin and Aaron Phangiso that made the difference, meawhile. Fortuin has nine wickets and an economy rate of 4.57 runs per over, while Phangiso has seven and goes for 5.20 runs per over.
Lions are unbeaten since losing to Cape Cobras in their first game. The winning streak started with their 18-run win against Dolphins and they have not looked back since.
Their last match, against Knights, was rained off, but Lions did beat Titans in their most recent completed game. Rassie van der Dussen (85) and Reeza Hendricks (77) dominated in a total of 181/4 before the bowlers sealed a 19-run win.

As expected, Andile Phehlukwayo replaced Lwandisa Zuma last time out, with the South African all-rounder straight into the thick of the action too. That was the only change from Dolphins’ last completed match, and they could go unchanged this time.
World Cup-bound all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo showed his big-hitting batting ability with 31* from 19 balls in the game against Titans and he will now want his bowling ability to match-up. Phehlukwayo previous took seven wickets in two games against Sri Lanka for South Africa.
He is one of two notable all-rounders in the team, with Robbie Frylinck the other. He hammered 26 off 15 balls against Titans – subdued by some of the standards he set during the Bangladesh Premier League – while he has taken wickets too.
Morne van Wyk (55 from 41 balls) and Cody Chetty (56 from 36) both scored half-centuries against Titans, meanwhile, and will hope to build on that batting form.
With the ball, Prenelan Subrayen took another two wickets to move to seven so far. His economy rate is also excellent, having recorded figures of 2-28 last time out. Daryn Dupavilon, who has four wickets so far, was the only other bowler not to concede at more than ten runs per over.
Dolphins have still not won since beating Knights in their opening game. Either side of a rained-off game against Warriors, Dolphins lost to Cape Cobras and Warriors. In the former, Robbie Frylinck took 2-27 and then hammered a quickfire 47 with the bat but it was not quite enough as they finished 144/5 in reply to 152/6.
Last time out, meanwhile, they posted 185/4 against Titans – Cody Chetty scoring 56 from 36 balls. Prenelan Subrayen took both wickets to fall in the reply, but Titans claimed an eight-wicket win with two overs to spare.

Lions’ win in Durban earlier this month was their 11th T20 win against Dolphins, whereas the Dolphins have won nine.
Wiaan Mulder top-scored for Lions with 59* in a total of 159/5. In reply, Bjorn Fortuin and Aaron Phangiso’s economical bowling (and two wickets apiece) helped restrict Dolphins to 141/9.
Lions know a win could put them top of the table and they are 1.61 to beat Dolphins with Bet365. Dolphins are 2.30 to win.
Dolphins have not won since their opening game, whereas Lions are in superb form and have surged up the table. Another win will keep them on track for first place.
