While Hendricks struck an unbeaten 116, van den Bergh chipped in with a knock of 72 and both these middle-order batsmen will be expected to score big in this match. Temba Bavuma had cracked an unbeaten century not too long ago against the Titans and the skipper will look to lead from the front once again. In terms of bowling, the Lions seem heavily reliant on Aaron Phangiso who has taken five wickets in the tournament. The left-arm spinner is coming off a three-wicket haul and he is likely to have a good outing against the Cobras on Thursday. Nandre Burger and Bjorn Fortuin will probably open the bowling and they will be backed by the Lions to make the early inroads.

Pieter Malan, Kyle Verreynne, Jason Smith and Mpilo Njoloza were also dropped last time and replaced by Hashim Amla, David Bedingham, Rory Kleinveldt and Akhona Mnyaka. The Cobras are unlikely to make any changes to their playing eleven for this game.

The batting unit of Cape Cobras looks pretty strong with the likes of Hashim Amla, Janneman Malan and JP Duminy being the key figures. Malan hit 71 in the last game against the Titans and the team will want him to continue his good form. Amla has not been at his best of late but Thursday could just be his day of finding his form back. Zubayr Hamza, who scored an unbeaten 88 in the reverse encounter, is another batsman in this side who has the potential to score the big runs. Dane Paterson, Rory Kleinveldt and George Linde are the strike bowlers for the Cobras. Paterson has been the most successful of the trio with eight wickets in five matches followed by Linde who has six wickets to his name. Both took three wickets apiece last time against the Lions and they are likely to cause problems for them again.
