Lancashire Lightning vs Yorkshire Vikings Vitality T20 Blast 2020
As well as Roses glory, Lancashire Lightning can book their place in the 2020 Vitality T20 Blast quarter-finals if they once again overcome Roses rivals Yorkshire Vikings when they meet at Old Trafford Cricket Ground. The match, on September 17, gets underway at 18:35 local time.
Lancashire’s win against Yorkshire last time out, chasing 146 to win in just 17.5 overs, was their fourth win in five completed games so far. Their only defeat has come against table-topping Nottinghamshire Outlaws and they will be bolstered by the return of Saqib Mahmood too.
Yorkshire Vikings have Dawid Malan back but have been frustrated by the unavailability of David Willey, Josh Poysden, Matt Fisher and Tom Kohler-Cadmore under medical guidelines. It was an unexpected blow and they have suffered back-to-back defeats without them. They do, however, welcome Joe Root and Adil Rashid back.

With Liam Livingstone already back, Lancashire will be handed another boost with Saqib Mahmood adding to the bowling attack. Jos Buttler remains unavailable as he is setting off straight from England duty for the IPL, while Keaton Jennings and Richard Gleeson are injured.
Lancashire Lightning Key Players
- Liam Livingstone: Could have been a little rusty, having suffered a lack of match practice due to being on England’s reserve list, but he is capable of plenty up the order in T20 cricket.
- Alex Davies: Scored 65, 82, 36 and 86 in his first four innings in this year’s tournament and the wicket-keeper-batsman will be keen to get straight back to that form.
- Matt Parkinson: Claimed the man of the match award after his 3-25 last time out, he has 72 wickets in 43 T20 innings in his career – seven of which have arrived this season.
