The 2022 T20 Blast runners-up have won two out of two and were strong on Thursday when they thrashed Leicestershire Foxes by 8 wickets with 51 balls remaining. Liam Livingstone and Phil Salt came back into the side and took on the captaincy but Jos Buttler is not expected back for another few days.

Steven Croft top scored with 46 not out in Lancashire Lightning’s successful chase of only 100 against Leicestershire Foxes. Daryl Mitchell hit the 11.3rd ball of the innings for six to complete the victory and the New Zealand international looks to be in top form.

Although Saqib Mahmood caught the eye with figures of 3-17 from 3.5 overs on Thursday, it was left-arm pace bowler Luke Wood who once again produced the best figures for Lancashire Lightning. He took 3-11 (including bowling a maiden over) to add to his 3-31 against Derbyshire Falcons last Saturday.

Lancashire Lightning look to have put their narrow 2022 T20 Blast Final defeat behind them and are already targeting their third successive win of the competition.
Nottinghamshire
The Outlaws got off to a winning start on Friday as they defeated Derbyshire Falcons by 4 wickets with 18 balls remaining at Trent Bridge. They will want to be more ruthless in this game though after losing three wickets during their final six runs of the match.

There were two half-centurions for Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge with Joe Clarke hitting a brilliant 68 runs from 29 balls at the top of the order and Matthew Montgomery contributing 51 runs from 29 balls at number four. Alex Hales made only 12 but Colin Munro produced a typically attacking 23 runs from 15 balls.

Only Lyndon James and T20 veteran Samit Patel went wicketless for Notts Outlaws on Friday night with the five bowlers used all picking up at least one wicket. Steven Mullaney took 2-37 and there was a wicket on debut for Shaheen Shah Afridi who will enjoy the pace on offer at Old Trafford.
