Kuwait beat UAE by one wicket in their opening game of the 2022 Asia Cup Qualifier but were well beaten by Hong Kong, by eight wickets, in their second match. Singapore have lost their two opening games and it is already impossible for them to finish top of the group and progress to the 2022 Asia Cup proper. They were beaten by eight runs against Hong Kong in Match 1 and were even less competitive against UAE, losing the match by 47 runs on Monday. 22 year old all-rounder Janak Prakash has been the standout player for Singapore so far. He top scored with 31 runs from 32 balls against Hong Kong before delivering with the ball and recording figures of 3-35 against UAE. Opener Aritra Dutta hit four sixes and top scored with 42 runs from 29 balls against UAE.
