After their opening match of the campaign against Warriors ended as a no-result, Knights picked up their first victory in Match 7 against Western Province. Chasing 117 to win, Knights got over the finishing line with only one wicket down and 6.1 overs remaining.

Knights only required the services of their top three batters in the win over Western Province on Thursday. Keeper-batter Gihahn Cloete top scored with an unbeaten 68 from 42 balls, an innings which included 11 fours and a six.

Although they have only completed one fixture, Knights have picked up 19 wickets across the competition so far. Against Western Province, 22 year old pace bowler Gerald Coetzee was the star, picking up very impressive figures of 4-22 from 3.5 overs.

It was a disappointing start to this CSA T20 Challenge for Lions who were beaten by North West by four wickets and Titans by 71 runs before responding well with a seven wicket (DLS) victory over Warriors to get their points tally up and running.

Wiaan Mulder is one of three players across the tournament to have already gone past 100 runs. He hit 31 not out from 21 balls on Friday, to add to scores of 55 against North West and 29 against Titans. Opener Cameron Delport got the innings off to an aggressive start with 30 runs from 11 balls.
LIO Bowling
Lions have taken 16 wickets across their three games so far but dismissed only four of Warriors batters in the victory against them. South Africa international Lutho Sipamla got the first wicket of the game to bring his tally up to five in the tournament.
LIO Form
The win over Warriors means that Lions have now won two of their last four games in the CSA T20 Challenge.
