While those two had been short of form, it had been Ryan Rickleton leading the batting charge instead. He is their top scorer so far, hitting two half-centuries in four innings on his way to 142 runs so far.
With the ball, Bjorn Fortuin has taken nine wickets so far and Aaron Phangiso has seven – both with superb economy rates too, of 4.57 runs per over and 5.20.
Nono Pongolo took three wickets last time out, in just his second appearance, while Wiaan Mulder has earned international recognition lately after an encouraging start to his career in all formats.

Lions have won three of their four completed matches so far, with their only defeat coming against Cape Cobras in their first game, when they fell five runs short of the Cobras’ 169/8.
Bjorn Fortuin took 2-14 in that match and did so again as Lions beat Dolphins by 18 runs next up, successfully defending a total of 159/5 powered by Wiaan Mulder’s 59*.
They faced Knights next up, and Fortuin took 3-10 to restrict them to 110/9 in reply to 150/7 after Ryan Rickleton’s half-century.
The momentum was halted by a no result against Warriors, but Lions roared back last time out as Rassie van der Dussen (85) and Reeza Hendicks (77) led them to 181/4 and a 19-run win against Titans.
