The second match of the Indian Premier League 2016 will see former champions Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Delhi Daredevils. The electrifying contest will be held on April 10 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata and live action is scheduled to commence at 8 PM local time. The Knight Riders are two-time champions who lifted the trophy back in 2012 and 2014. The Daredevils are yet to win their maiden title and with a few tweaks in their squad, they will be hoping to win this year's edition. Both the teams look strong on paper and it will be interesting to see who gets to have the last laugh on Sunday.

Under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir, the KKR will be eyeing their third title in the ninth edition of the IPL. Besides the skipper, their batting line-up features Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan and allrounder Andre Russell. Gambhir has been out of international cricket for a long time and could be rusty which makes Shakib Al Hasan a safe betting option. The Bangladeshi allrounder scored consistently for his side in the World T20 and is likely to carry his good form into the IPL.
In Colin Munro, Sunil Narine, Jason Holder and Shakib Al Hasan, they have plenty of firepower in their bowling attack. The Zaheer Khan-led Daredevils have made some drastic changes to thier squad which now looks stronger than before. Quinton de Kock will be an obvious choice for a bet to top-score for his side. Averaging around 38, the batsman scored 153 runs in four games in the World T20 including an impressive fifty. JP Duminy will provide stability in the middle order while Carlos Brathwaite, with his four-ball four-sixes in the World T20 final, showed a glimpse of how destructive he could be down the order.
Mohammed Shami and Zaheer Khan will lead the pace attack for the Daredevils while Imran Tahir and Amit Mishra will handle the spin department. Tahir has 43 wickets to his name in 27 T20Is at a remarkable economy rate of 6.48 which makes him a worthy bet to be the best bowler on Sunday. Pawan Negi, the most expensive among the local players, and part-timer JP Duminy can also chip in with their spin.
Final Prediction
After making it to the semi-finals of the inaugural edition of the IPL, the Delhi Daredevils have not quite lived up to the expectations in the subsequent seasons. But with a largely changed squad, they will hope for a swing of fortunes. The Kolkata Knight Riders will draw a lot of confidence from their title wins in 2012 and 2014. Moreover, they will be playing in Eden Gardens which is their home ground for the tournament and will receive an enormous support from the crowd. The Kolkata Knight Riders, therefore, will be the favorites to win the match against the Delhi Daredevils on Sunday.
