Nepal are favorites to win
Kenya will take on Nepal in the second ODI of the three-game series. The match will be played at the Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi starting at 09:30 local time on Saturday 3rd September.
Kenya’s total of 218 all out looked to be 25-30 runs too short at the time and so it proved as they lost the opening game of the series by seven wickets. They did not use 11 balls of their innings and ultimately that proved to be critical in the game. Kenya’s middle order batters, Rakep Patel and Collins Obuya, both made scores in the sixties and put on 130 for the fifth wicket. Indeed, the team were set for a much higher total when the fifth wicket fell on 179 mid-way through the 42nd over. With the ball, there was a wicket each for Patel, Obuya and leg-spinner Vishal Patel. Pace bowler Emmanuel Bundi was the most expensive, conceding 40 runs from six overs. Sukhdeep Singh will need to rally his troops to produce a stronger performance in this game.
Nepal produced a very strong performance with bat and ball to defeat Kenya on Friday and reached their target of 219 with 2.3 overs remaining and seven wickets in hand. It was very impressive from the visitors, who were captained by Rohit Paudel in the absence of Sandeep Lamichhane who has departed for the Caribbean Premier League. Both opening bowlers, Sompal Kami and Karan KC, took three wickets with Kami particularly impressive. The right arm fast medium bowler took a wicket in the first over of the game and ended with figures of 3-29 from his 10 overs. It was the openers who delivered with the bat as well for Nepal. Keeper-batter Arjun Saud made 61 runs from 97 balls with Aasid Sheikh hitting 110 runs from 120 balls.
The match will be played at the Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi. Any score over 250 will be very hard to chase down on this wicket. We expect to see good carry for the pace bowlers and plenty of turn for the spinners.

Nepal were far better than Kenya on Saturday but, as we saw during the IT20 series, the hosts have plenty of character and will fight back if given an opportunity. We expect this game to be much closer but are predicting another win for Nepal.
