Who will win Jamaica Tallawahs vs Barbados Tridents, CPL 2019?
Out-of-form Jamaica Tallawahs continue their search for a first win of the 2019 Caribbean Premier League when they welcome Barbados Tridents to Sabina Park. The match takes place on September 15 and the live action is scheduled to start at 14:00.
The Tallawahs have lost four from four so far, with their bowling being the major factor in that. Having already lost to St Kitts & Nevis Patriots despite posting 241/4 earlier in the tournament, they conceded a record 26/72 against Trinbago Knight Riders last time out.
Barbados Tridents were bottom of the pile last season but go into this match on the back of a win. One day after Jamaica’s defeat to the same opposition, they beat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by 18 runs in their most recent game.

JT vs BT Toss Prediction
Jamaica Tallawahs won the toss and elected to field last time out but it did not do them any good. Given their poor bowling form, they may prefer it if the decision is taken out of their hands this time.
JT vs BT Weather Report
Thunderstorms earlier in the day are set to clear by the afternoon. There could still be a few clouds about and a bit of wind, but the chance of rain falls significantly after lunch.
JT vs BT Pitch Condition
Sabina Park’s pitch is not as fast as in the West Indies’ cricketing heyday but with pace and bounce there is always the potential for lots of runs – as the most recent match proved.

Jamaica Tallawahs Team News & Playing 11
JT Team News
Javelle Glen made his T20 debut last time out and proved a useful middle-order batsman but the bowling attack remains the major concern. Derval Green has been expensive in his two matches, while Jerome Taylor has shipped runs too – and bowled four no balls last time out. Zahir Khan came into the team and was the only bowler to claim a wicket, but there are likely to be more bowling changes this time. Jade Dernbach could come straight into the team after being signed up as a late addition. Rovman Powell will miss out after retiring hurt against the Knight Riders – he joins Andre Russell on the sidelines.
JT Key Players
Chris Gayle: Showed his form when he smashed the 22nd T20 century of his career against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. He hit 39 from 24 balls last time out which, ordinarily, would be an excellent start to the innings.
Glenn Phillips: His return to form is one positive for the Tallawahs – the New Zealand wicket-keeper-batsman having hit 58 and 62 in the last two matches to recapture his best batting touch.
Oshane Thomas: He was the most expensive bowler in an attack that fell well below par last time out, but the West Indian paceman did at least take seven wickets in the two previous matches.
JT Team Form
Jamaica Tallawahs have lost all four matches so far, with their bowling falling well short so far. They conceded 191/4 in a 22-run defeat to Trinbago Knight Riders first up, before failing to defend 241/4 in a four-wicket loss to St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the second game – Chris Gayle having earlier hit a century.
Their score of 170/5 against St Lucia Zouks in their first home game was well below par as they lost by five wickets in just 16.4 overs, despite Oshane Thomas claiming 3-26. And the bowling horror show continued last time out – the Tallawahs conceding seven no balls as Trinbago Knight Riders bludgeoned 267/2 at Sabina Park. The Tallawahs reached 226/5 in reply.
Jamaica Tallawahs Predicted Playing 11
Glenn Phillips (wk), Chris Gayle (c), Chadwick Walton, George Worker, Imran Khan, Javelle Glen, Shamar Springer, Steven Jacobs, Jade Dernbach, Oshane Thomas, Zahir Khan
Barbados Tridents Team News & Playing 11
BT Team News
After getting their first win of the season last time out, Barbados Tridents could be unchanged for this game – that would mean Hayden Walsh continuing in place of Raymon Reifer, having been the only change from their opening game. Shai Hope is yet to feature.
BT Key Players
Sandeep Lamichhane: The Nepalese leg-spinning teenager proved his worth last time out as he claimed 3-22 from his four overs to move to 67 wickets in 50 T20 appearances.
JP Duminy: The South African all-rounder hammered 43* from just 18 balls last time out and then bowled the first over of the reply too. He was previously in excellent form for the Winnipeg Hawks at the Caribbean Premier League.
Alex Hales: The big-hitting England opener has yet to hit top form for the Tridents but when he does he can be explosive at the top of the order – as he has already proved in firing Notts Outlaws to the T20 Blast Finals Day.
BT Team Form
Barbados Tridents lost their opening game, away to Guyana Amazon Warriors, when they were bowled out for 133 in reply to 180/4, but they bounced back last time out. Leniko Boucher (62*) and JP Duminy (43*) helped lift the Tridents to 186/2 against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots before Sandeep Lamichhane took 3-22 in reply to restrict the Patriots to 168/9.

Jamaica Tallawahs vs Barbados Tridents Head to Head
Barbados Tridents only won two matches last season but one of them was against Jamaica Tallawahs after the all-round heroics of Steve Smith. The Australian – then in international exile due to his ball-tampering ban – scored 63 and then took 2-19 as the Tridents posted 156/6 and restricted the Tallawahs to 154/3 in reply. Raymon Reifer was the man to keep his cool bowling the last over. Last time they met, however, the Tallawahs claimed their sixth win in 12 meetings with the Tridents – Johnson Charles, then with Jamaica, hitting a half-century as they chased 152 to win by five wickets.
