Jamaica Tallawahs and St Lucia Zouks are the final two teams to start their 2020 Caribbean Premier League campaigns. The two teams, who both missed out on the play-offs last season, meet at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, on August 19 and the live action starts at 10:00 local time.
The Tallawahs won just two matches last season but they have made some notable changes this season – not least releasing Chris Gayle. Andre Russell is among their key players, while Carlos Brathwaite arrives for 2020 and Rovman Powell is their captain.
St Lucia Zouks – who have so often been the weaker of the six teams in this tournament, were the ones to acquire Gayle, but he has since dropped out for personal reasons. Anrich Nortje, Rilee Rossouw and Colin Ingram have also opted out, leaving them without some of their key signings for this season.
