Who will win India vs South Africa, 5th WT20?
India and South Africa will ended the WT20i leg of their rain-frustrated white-ball series when they meet for the final time at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, Surat. Only two of the four previous games in this series have gone ahead due to rain, but India won both of them.
The series concludes on October 4, and the live action is scheduled to start at 19:00 local time.
Deepti Sharma bowled India to victory in the opening game, taking 3-8 (including three consecutive maidens) to restrict South Africa to 119 in reply to 130/4. Poonam Yadav was man of the match last time, meanwhile – she took 3-13 as South Africa were restricted to 89/7 from 17 overs.
With the Indian bowlers on top, the hosts now go into this final game of the series as favourites to complete a 3-0 series win – weather-permitting, of course.

INDW vs SAW Toss Prediction
South Africa Women have won the toss in both completed matches and, on both occasions, they have elected to field first. India are due this one then, though they may stick with what has been successful – batting first.
INDW vs SAW Weather Report
The sun may finally shine on this series with the thunderstorms forecast to cease on Friday morning. That will leave time for a quick mop up before sunny conditions and 30-degree temperatures are forecast for the afternoon.
INDW vs SAW Pitch Condition
Deepti Sharma and Poonam Yadav’s success on this wicket has showed what the spinners can get out of it. Pace off has generally been successful on a grippy surface.

India stuck with the same XI for the last match, with Pooja Vastrakar repaying that faith with a much-improved bowling performance. Opener Shafali Verma did likewise, as she top-scored in just her second WT20i. They may elect to stick with that team to build some momentum together, which would mean players like Arundhati Reddy and Anuja Patil missing out.
INDW Key Players
Harmanpreet Kaur: The India captain top-scored for the hosts and enjoyed a quick flurry last time out – hitting 16 from nine balls. A useful option with her off-break bowling too, she needs 31 more runs to reach 2,000 in WT20i cricket.
Jemimah Rodrigues: In excellent form towards the end of the Kia Super League with Yorkshire Diamonds, she recaptured some of that last time out as she hit five fours on her way to 33 from 22 balls.
Deepti Sharma: The star of the first game with her stunning bowling, taking 3-8 after bowling 18 consecutive dot balls, the all-rounder hit 20* from 16 balls last time out and then took 1-19 with the ball too.
INDW Team Form
India have won both games in this series to put a seven-game losing streak in WT20 internationals behind them. After Deepti Sharma bowled India to victory in the first game, Poonam Yadav – who had also bowled well in that match – took some deserved plaudits of her own last time out. The leg-spinner claimed 3-13 as South Africa struggled to 89/7 in reply to 140/7. Both innings had been reduced to 17 overs.

South Africa altered the balance of the team last time out, as Lara Goodall replaced Nondumiso Shangase, though it did not pay off as the batting fell well short. With Marizanne Kapp unavailable for the WT20i leg of this tour, only Trisha Chetty and Anneke Bosch have not featured so far – both could slot in.
SAW Key Players
Mignon du Preez: Losing the in-form batsmen for a duck last time out was a big blow, particularly given her half-century in the opening game. That had been her seventh half-century in the format, while she was in good form in the Kia Super League too.
Lizelle Lee: The big-hitting opener arrived at this series in good form which, so far, she has been unable to replicate. Nevertheless, her record speaks for itself – ten WT20i half-centuries and scores of 75 and 65 in her two T20 innings before this series.
Shabnim Ismail: Though she was wicketless last time out, unable to add to the three she took in the opening game, the opening bowler was still a key figure – posting the most ecomimical figures of all the Proteas as she took 0-22 from four overs.
SAW Team Form
There will be no repeat of South Africa’s comeback win against Pakistan in their most recent WT20i series. Instead, their batting has come up short on this tour. Mignon du Preez’s half-century perhaps papered over that crack as they were dismissed for 119 in reply to 130/4 in the first match. Then, last time out, they limped to 89/7 in reply to India’s 140/4 in a reduced 17-over game.

IND Women vs SA Women Head to Head
India’s win last time out was their sixth in eight previous matches against South Africa. With one of those eight a no result, it means South Africa have only ever beaten India once. The Indian bowlers have made the difference in this series. Poonam Yadav has taken five wickets and Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav have four each with South Africa posting 119 all out and 89/7 (from 17 overs) in the two games so far.
