Who will win India Women vs South Africa Women, 3rd T20?
India and South Africa will be hoping for better luck with the weather in Surat as they look again to try and rekindle their rivalry in this WT20i series. After the second game was washed out, the third match will take place at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium on September 29, with the live action scheduled to start at 19:00.
It was frustrating for the hosts last time out, who were looking to press home their advantage after winning the first game. Deepti Sharma was their star of the show in that game – helping India end a run of seven straight WT20i defeats as she bowled three maidens and took 3-8, as the Proteas were all out for 119 in reply to 130/8.
South Africa will take heart from the fact they came behind to win their most recent WT20i series, however, against Pakistan. There were positives in the first game – Shabnim Ismail’s three wickets and Mignon du Preez’s half-century – but more bad weather could mean more frustration for both teams in Surat.

INDW vs SAW Toss Prediction
India batted first at South Africa’s request in the first game. Harmanpreet Kaur is due this one, then, and may elect to bat first again after India’s victory.
INDW vs SAW Weather Report
The weather forecast in Surat is ominous again on Sunday. Thunderstorms are forecast all day and the chance of rain is still around the 50 per cent mark into the evening. The outfield will be wet even if the rain has stopped by then so it could be another frustrating night.
INDW vs SAW Pitch Condition
Surat – India’s newest international cricket venue – seemed to serve up a grippy wicket in the first match and the recent weather conditions could mean it is a slow one again if there is play on Sunday.

Pooja Vastrakar bowled just the one over in the first game – conceding 18 from it – and her place seems to be the one in most danger, with both Anuja Patil and Arundhati Reddy waiting in the wings. Shafali Verma will be eager for another chance to impress too – she made her WT20i debut last time out, but only lasted four balls.
INDW Key Players
Harmanpreet Kaur: The India captain top-scored for the hosts in the first match, hitting five boundaries on her way to 43 from 34 balls. Her versatility was proved when she then claimed 1-20 with the ball too.
Smriti Mandhana: India’s vice-captain and another of their star batsmen, the 23-year-old made a start last time out – hitting 21 from 16 balls – and will be keen to add to her nine WT20i half-centuries during this series.
Deepti Sharma: The all-rounder batted Western Storm to KSL victory earlier in the month, hitting 39* in the final, and then proved her worth with the ball in the first game of this series. Her 18 consecutive dot balls, which included three wickets, were vital to India’s victory.
INDW Team Form
India came into this series on the back of seven consecutive WT20i defeats – the World T20 semi-final, followed by series whitewashes at the hands of New Zealand and England.
They wasted no time breaking that drought in this series, however – posting 130/8 and then bowling South Africa out for 119 in reply thanks to Deepti Sharma’s excellent bowling to claim an 11-run win.

Nonkululeko Mlaba made her WT20i debut in the first game and Ayabonga Khaka returned to the team too. The latter had the better game, bowling economically, but both could be retained for this third match.
SAW Key Players
Mignon du Preez: Top scorer in the first game of the series, hitting 59 and keeping South Africa in contention right until the final over. It was her seventh half-century in WT20i cricket.
Lizelle Lee: After back-to-back half-centuries in her previous two T20 innings, the big-hitting opener looked well set for another after racing out of the blocks last time out. Her dismissal for 16 was an early turning point.
Shabnim Ismail: After three wickets in the warm-up game, the fast bowler took another three during India’s innings in the first match of this series – finishing with figures of 3-26.
SAW Team Form
South Africa bowled well last time out, as they looked to push on from their series win against Pakistan in their most recent WT20i matches, when Shabnim Ismail claimed 3-26 and Ayabonga Khaka conceded just ten from her four overs. It left them needing 131 to win, but Mignon du Preez’s half-century proved in vain as they fell short on 119.
SA Women Predicted Playing 11
Lizelle Lee (wk), Tazmin Brits, Laura Wolfvaardt, Nadine de Klerk, Mignon du Preez, Sune Luus (c), Shabnim Ismail, Nondumiso Shangase, Ayabonga Khaka, Tumi Sekhukhune, Nonkululeko Mlaba
IND Women vs SA Women Head to Head
South Africa have only won on of their six completed matches against India – in a 3-1 series defeat when they last faced each other in a bilateral series.
India therefore have five wins to their name now, after Deepti Sharma’s player-of-the-match-winning bowling performance last time out. In reply to India’s 130/8, South Africa folded for 119.

- INDW to Win the Match: India Women are 1.36 favourites to beat South Africa Women in the third WT20i with Bet365.
- INDW Top Batsman: After top-scoring in the first game, India captain Harmapreet Kaur is 4.33 to be their top batsman again with Bet365. Smriti Mandhana is 3.40, given her excellent batting record, while Jemimah Rodrigues – who was in top form at the Kia Super League – is 4.50.
- INDW Top Bowler: Deepti Sharma stole the headlines last time out with her excellent bowling and yet she is still 4.00 to be India’s top bowler with Bet365. Poonam Yadav – who also bowled well in the first game – is favourite at 3.25 with Bet365, while Radha Yadav, who took two wickets in the final over, can also be backed at 4.00. Anuja Patil is pushing for a recall and, if she does come back into the bowling attack, she could be a dark horse worth backing at 5.50.
SAW Bet365 Odds
- SAW to Win the Match: South Africa Women are 3.20 outsiders to beat India Women at Surat in the third game of this series with Bet365.
- SAW Top Batsman: After her half-century last time out, it is surprising to see Mignon du Preez is not priced higher than 4.50 to be South Africa’s top batsman again. Lizelle Lee’s position at the top of the order makes her favourite – she is 3.75 with Bet365, after showing some good form before her early dismissal last time out. Elsewhere with the bat, Laura Wolfvaardt is also priced at 4.50, while Tazmin Brits can be backed at 5.50.
- SAW Top Bowler: Shabnim Ismail is in good bowling form and her price of 3.00 with Bet365 to be South Africa’s top bowler in the third WT20i reflects that. Ayabonga Khaha was wicketless in the first game but did only concede ten runs from her four overs and she is second-favourite at 5.00 with Bet365. Higher-priced bowlers include captain Sune Luus – who is now 6.50 with Bet365 – while newcomer Nonkululeko Mlaba is 6.00.
