India Team News & Playing 11
IND Team News
Rohit Sharma is set to lead India's 16-man T20I squad in the absence of Virat Kohli who has been rested for this series. Deepak Chahar, Siddarth Kaul and Suresh Raina who were all part of the T20I set-up in England have been left out. MS Dhoni has been dropped while Hardik Pandya, who is nursing a back injury, also misses out. His brother Krunal Pandya has been picked and is in line to make his international debut on Sunday. The Indian team have also called up Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar and uncapped left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem.
IND Key Players
The top three - Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Lokesh Rahul - will be the key men for India with the bat. Skipper Rohit struck two centuries and a fifty in the ODI series and he will look to extend his form in the shortest format. Dhawan was a bit below par but he is always a dangerous player in this format. Rahul is the world No. 3 batsman in T20Is and he is expected to start the series off with a big knock. Yuzvendra Chahal is fourth in the ICC T20I bowling rankings and he will play a major role here. Apart from him, India will also rely on Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah to stifle the West Indian batsmen. Yadav is coming off an impressive ODI series and he is more likely to return the best figures on Sunday.
IND Recent Form
India have won seven and drawn one of their past eight T20 international series. This year, they have played 13 T20Is out of which they have won 10 and lost just 3. Their previous assignment in this format came in July in England. It was a three-match bilateral series against the hosts which India finished winning 2-1.

Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (wk), Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah
West Indies Team News & Playing 11
WI Team News
West Indies have recalled batsman Darren Bravo and allrounder Kieron Pollard for the upcoming T20 international series against India. Chris Gayle, however, has made himself unavailable for selection due to other commitments. Andre Russell, who missed the ODI series because of injury, has returned to the side for the T20Is. Meanwhile, off-spinner Ashley Nurse has been ruled out of the series with a shoulder injury he had sustained during the fourth ODI at Mumbai. Carlos Brathwaite will be leading the 14-man T20I squad.
WI Key Players
Shimron Hetmyer, with 259 runs including a hundred and a half-century, was the most successful batsman for the Windies in the just concluded ODI series and the team will want him to carry on with his good form. Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell are both powerful strikers of the cricket ball and these two will be the crucial cogs in the middle order. Pollard is a game-changer and his knock will become even more important should the visitors lose a few early wickets. The West Indian bowling will depend heavily on their skipper Carlos Brathwaite who has 25 wickets in 29 T20Is. Russell too has the same number of wickets to his name and his knack of providing breakthroughs at crucial moments makes him the one to watch out for. There will also be high expectations from Obed McCoy who claimed four wickets in the two ODIs he played.
WI Recent Form
West Indies have lost six and won just two out of the eight completed T20 internationals they have played since the start of this year. They last played a T20I series against Bangladesh in July-August. It was a three-match series held in the West Indies and the USA which Bangladesh won 2-1. Prior to that, the Windies had defeated the ICC World XI by 72 runs at the Lord's.
West Indies Predicted Playing 11
Darren Bravo, Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetmyer, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Fabian Allen, Carlos Brathwaite (c), Keemo Paul, Obed McCoy, Oshane Thomas
